Just wondering if anyone could give me a general idea about the differences in what is acceptable in Canadian strip clubs that is not in the USA? I have always heard that they have more liberal laws up there, but I haven't the slightest idea in what regards. I am in the midwest USA and really can't imagine what else could be legally done their that we don't have, short of full service or extra's being legal.
Shadowcat, up here the laws varry from province to province, and even differ between cities. Hamilton used to allow lap dances and stage tipping, but all that has changed over the past numer of years. Currently lap dances are illegal (as if a written law has stopped it), and here in Hamilton, stage tipping is allowed, but you can't lay down on stage like it used to be. You can still stand at the side of the stage & tip the dancer though. The biggest pain in the ass now is that all bars/clubs/and any other public place, it is illeagal to smoke. Hamilton Strip was good enough to provide a patio for smokers, but that is now being battled with the City and other whiners in the area. Other than that, Hamilton Strip is still worth the visit.
The way things are going, you won't have to worry about exchange rates. The Canadian dollar has been on a steady climb over the past year, as the U.S. greenback has been plummeting. Since Bush's "re-election" our dollar has shot up almost another 4 cents. currently at 83.50 us.
Shadowcat: I suppose I never did think about the exchange rate when asking that question. Like I said, I've never been to Canada, so I guess you would have to be stupid not to.
Fill up your gas tank before you enter Canada. I got a good exchange rate using a visa check card at an atm. I personally wouldn't go back because the border guards were obnoxious and demanded a search of my vehicle. Of course there was nothing for them to find.
Perhaps a dumb question, but if you ever go to a Canadian club, are you actually supposed to tip in Canadian dollars? Never been to Canada, but if I ever get together again with one of my old buddies who lives in the Detroit area, it could happen.
The first time I ever saw a dancer completely nude was in Montreal - seems to me that they had full nudity before most places in the US did. Now there's probably little difference compared with very high contact nude US places, other than being cheaper. But there isn't much of that in the Northeast US.
In Windsor, Ontario all clubs are nude and laps are allowed. There may be individual touching. Escort services are also legal in Windsor. Even though it's not supposed to happen, some dancers work as escorts, but cannot make or keep dates at strip clubs.
