It all started one simple Thursday night, with a pair of stolen stripper boots. From there, it just got weird . . . and highly illegal.
According to the Chronicle-Telegram, the police arrived at Christie's Cabaret in Brunswick last Thursday after one of the club's dancers phoned in about stolen property. Christie's is on Pearl Road, and has great drink specials . . . we've been told . . .
Anyway, as a note to topless dancers everywhere: if you're working a shady establishment, you probably want to handle theft in-house. Once the police started poking around your club, they're going to find something else worthy of a criminal charge or two. In this case, the officers stubbed their toes on a car in the parking lot holding three young dancers, two men, and, after a search, the stolen stripper boots.
But by that time the police were less interested in the stolen property than the individuals. Two of the ladies provided false identification. Initially claiming the guys in the cars were theirs cousins, the women then admitted they'd met the men that night and we're on the way back to smoke weed in their hotel room. Turns out, one of the men was a registered sex offender. All things considered, these are two lucky shadeballs — if the cops hadn't started asking questions, one of those guys might have been a repeat offender.
It wasn't until the actual identities of the girls were discovered that things got interesting: two of the dancers, Leanna Long and Ashley Turner, were 18. The unidentified third was only 17-year-old — which means the club was employing an underage girl.
The two of-age women were slapped with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child endangerment. The juvenile faces theft charges for the purloined stripper boots.
As of right now, the club hasn't been hit with fines or infractions for the minor's presence, but the matter has been passed along to the state. But, as the paper reports it, somebody adult along the way probably should have caught on earlier: in her application girl wrote her real name, then simply crossed it out and scribbled in the fake name corresponding with the fake ID
a few years ago in Akron, a 17 year old was found dancing. during the investigation she admitted she used her 21 year old sister's ID to get the job.
so, let me get this straight....... the girl defrauded the owner to work underage and the barmaid so she could drink too. she wasn't charge with anything but the owner was charged with hiring her & the barmaid was charged for serving her. yeah, sounds like Ohio.
