I have a friend who has somehow influenced a money hungry girl to start doing outcall escorting on top of her regular job. She now wants him to set her up with customers and ads in backpage. Now my friend is no pimp he is just good at talking people into stuff. So question is should my friend tell her how to do it or talk her out of it. This girl has two degrees and doesn't want to be a bad influence.

Depending on how good the girl maybe she wants to find a 'reputable' agency (I know that sounds crazy, but they exist) to start with. Going independent has its perks, but when you're just starting out, I'd imagine it helps to work with an agency who will handle a lot of the security/screening process for you.

You can point her to [view link] and let het make her own decision. It's an escort rating website. Their forum has a newbie section where she can learn about the business and ask questions. They also have a whitepaper. Depending on where you live, TER ads are much more reliable than BP. Keep in mind although sites like TER, p411, rs2k, and date check make hobbying/escorting safer, it is never truly safe.

Some things to consider: Incall vs outcall: does she have a place to host? Does she want strangers to know where she lives? Many hobbyists will not go to a motel. An upscale hotel can be a large expense for a new provider. Proper Screening: make sure the guy is not a cop or a psycho. Getting verified and reviewed: again many hobbyists will not see a new provider without any reviews. Agency vs independent: agencies may decide how many clients she will see and set her scheldule nd have other restrictions. If she wants to decide when to start and stop, agency is probably not the best option. And not every city has a reputable agency.

Unless your "friend" is desperate for a cut he should run like hell. I see very few upsides.

Anybody who sets up a girl to fuck for money is a pimp, it doesn't matter if he takes a cut or not. If she wants extra money she should be a dancer on the weekends. She would have a steady stream of customers and she could pick who she wants to have sex with. Plus if the club is in a metropolis, she can make lots of money without having sex.

What Jester said. Pandering, white slavery, sex crime listing, being hauled in court as a (hostile) witness, being hauled in court as a defendant... ain't none of that good. If it comes down to it, you need to stay out of the picture. You also need to tell them, "When the police come knocking at my door, I am telling them how it is, cuz I don't need to be caught up in this thing. You keep me out of this shit." A friend of mine sold pot for a while. One day he comes around with his arm in a sling and I ask "what happened?" Turns out he was selling a bushel of the shit and the dude decided a screwdriver into the arm was better than paying for it. My friend was like "Can you believe that?" and I was like "Yea, cuz you're drug dealer, dude. You need to expect that kind of shit. Why do you think they all walk around with guns and shit." I honestly don't think he saw himself as a drug dealer until he got stabbed. Don't walk through life as clueless as he did. Believe me, the police will have no problem putting a label on you.

The feds busted a major Detroit escort service this year. Pleas and trials are now underway.

Thanks for the advice I think he should definitely stay out of it. I know the girl and really what she should be trying to do is be some old rich dudes girlfriend on the side or something.

Once he starts doing it, he is a pimp. If he is comfortable with that, so be it. I wouldn't do it myself.

It is not like the movies. There is no upside and there is not part way in or (just helping her set up). Either he is in and is her pimp or is out runs away. That is like the pregnant teenager saying " I can't be pregnant we only did it once"!

Once he starts doing it, he is a pimp." "there is not part way in" As the (late) Jimmy Darmody so aptly put it, "You can't be half a gangster, Nuck"

Pimping as a career path? Why didn't I figure that out 48 years ago?
