Jackson's Perfect Ten survey got me thinking about this question. At some clubs, probably most notably the corporate Deja Vu clubs, management likes to compile statistics of the top earners in the club. By the week, by the month, by the year.
They post the rankings in the dressing room, the DJ announces them, or some clubs roll the "Top 10" list on the big screen monitors.
While it is interesting to see who the top earners are (sometimes it is a surprise - looks don't mean everything) it doesn't influence my dance choices. But at least it's a fun topic of conversation with the dancers.
I realize this is a moot question since many clubs don't have a pay out system like DJV, but I just thought it be interesting to know if you care who be top earners are.
Other than being interesting, NO. The top earners may be making more but it does not necessarily mean they are providing the best service or value to the customer.
A good percentage strippers make more money from tips than from lap dances which is why you can't count top earners like counting copy machine salesperson by units sold
Some top earners may just work more than others. I know of a dancer who works as a Realtor (she actually would give her business card out at the club to regulars -- a little dangerous perhaps) and during the boom, she only danced one night a week -- she claimed that she just wanted to party and figured she should make money while she was doing so. Since the housing bubble burst she's been "partying" a lot more often.
In the clubs I frequent, the dancers make all their money in the VIP booths. The girls know which dancers spend most of their time in VIP and make the most money.
I like dancers who are in the 8 to 10 range, because beauty is important to me. However, I have sometimes remarked to my dancer friends about a stripper who is only 5 or 6 and said she must not make much money. My friends have frequently told me that these girls are top earners, because they go the EXTRA mile.
It's actually even easier than that: For quite a few years now, Vu clubs (at least that I've seen) have a bill accepter at every lap dance station, so you don't actually give any money to the dancer (aside from tip). The dancer has a little keycard thing that activates the machine and recognizes that it's her, then you put in however much money you want, which then gets assigned to that dancer. The light turns green on the mahcine, and the girl then dances for you until the light turns red. I guess that at the end of the night, the club gives out money based on how many dances the girls have recorded at the machines. So, it's more like the dancers get their cut from the club, rather than the club getting its cut from the dancers.
" I like dancers who are in the 8 to 10 range, because beauty is important to me"
This seems to be the belief of many TUSCL members. I'd love to be with a Dancer in the VIP who was 9+ & was very engaged and enthusiastic.
But that has not been my experience with Dancers of that rating. Their performances have been "detached", NOT enthusiastic & engaged! So I'll take that 6 to 7 rated Dancer who "goes the Extra mile or two" with great engagement & enthusiasm! That Dancer will be a top earner that day with me.
In clubs like the Vu (bill acceptors) and many PA clubs that take a cut out of each LD / VIP, it makes sense that management would want to know who bring in the most money on average. Lowest earners get cut to make room for nubies.
I don't think advertising it makes much sense. There is enough SS as it is. Why the dancers more reason to be jealous of another?
I could absolutely care less who the top earners in a club are. Granted after a while, I know who they are if I go to a given club often enough, but there seems to be no real relationship between who the top earners are and who I like. I do know my previous ATF was a top earner at her club during the time she was there, but my personal #2 was only middle of the road.
The first thing I'd do at the VU is re-program the machines - to the benefit of me and my Fav Dancers....Using keycard recognition to an advantage, and in the spirit of St Patty's Day....Operation More Green...
As far as top earner......... if I was a boyfriend of a dancer who didn't care that my girlfriend danced or gave great mileage, she'd better be THE top earner or I'd whip her ass BIG time!!!! LOL :-) Keeps me from working.
The typical DV club uses those payment/timing poles. So the earnings would be for the dances themselves. Extra tips handed to the strippers are obviously not part of the accounting. So variations can include...number of hours worked, whether working the busier time or not, fewer use of specials, and just plain more hustle. It may or may not equate to offering more quality.
@jester214: "I'd like to know who the top earner is, since in most instances I want to avoid her."
Gotta agree with that one myself. She's either charging more than I want to pay, or too busy for me to get any decent time (and consequently probably in a hurry to get to the next PL).
