I'm heading to Portland, OR soon and I used tuscl.net to check out some of the SCs that are there. I used the Locator and it tells me there are 71 SCs in the Portland area! Seattle and Vancouver BC, two considerably larger cities, have 11 and 10 SCs, respectively. It has almost as many as NYC, a city probably 20x the size. Portland seems to be quite the SC Mecca. I wonder why Portland has 7x as many SCs as its two larger Pac NW neighbors?
I have visited Portland, Seattle and Boise. The Pacific Northwest and the Inland Empire pride themselves on individual freedom and freedom of expression. "We don't have all of those stuff hang-ups you have back East. And we have the good manners to keep things private." So she said during a LD.
First of all Portland has many "Neighborhood bars" that feature 2 or 3 dancers and not what you may be used to. Also the laws in Oregon are much more strip club friendly than Washington state. I know of many dancers that drive down from Seattle to dance in Portland because they can no longer make good money at the clubs there. If you want young natual girls and good lap dances try Jiggles or if you're looking for a upscale drinking club try Stars bridgeport location.
smoothshirt knows Portland. I'd guess his shirt has been rumpled more than a few times. Let me add that most Portland area strip clubs are boring. No energy, lots of girls who could be 7s if they'd lose 30 pounds and a dozen tatoos. Best bets are smooth's recommendations if you have wheels, though the downtown clubs are improving. Check latest reviews.
I lived in Portland for 12 years, then moved away last summer. I've lived all around this country and visited strip clubs in many states. For Portland (and Oregon in general) the up side is that the vast majority of clubs are full liquor and full nude, which can't be said for many Western states. The down side is that any establishment that has a liquor license won't give lap dances. The best they can do is a minimal contact table dance. For my tastes, I would rather skip the booze and get a true grind lap dance. Sadly, this is difficult to find even in the juice bars around Portland, like Jiggles. There, it really depends on the girl, and you might have to spend a pretty penny to get what you want. However, if visiual stimulation is what's important to you, Portland might indeed be your Mecca. Yes, some of the small neighborhood places might have only 2 or 3 average-looking dancers, but the medium and larger size places have some real cuties. And while they can't really touch you physically, they can sure leave an impression!
I went to Grad School in Oregon, and later visited clubs there on business trips. Friendly people. Attractive women. Low mileage. In Portland I think I would rather do something with my time other than visit strip clubs - say visit microbreweries or take in some live music.
Portland is low contact. Awhile back someone loaded this site with bogus reviews for Portland clubs. They ascended to the top 10 list for nationwide. Then Founder looked into it and wound up pulling them.
The Acropolis serves cheap steaks which can sometimes be good. Many drafts of beers on tap. Also has a 10-egg omelette -- I ate about 5 eggs worth and had to toss it. But eating breakfast with dancers doing their thing in front of you at 8am was ... different. That said, at The Acropolis, the gals dance in corrals with rails around the outside. First song fully dressed, second topless, third full nude, and on song 4 they crawl around and gather up the $1s they've been given and get dressed. Remakably, one of the best-looking dancers I ever saw was at The Acropolis, and I couldn't believe she was crawling around to gather up the $1s. Got a private dance and the most contact was her parting my knees with hers at the end of the first song. I didn't buy another.
I prefer more contact and a lot of dancers to choose from so I'm glad I'm not there. Sounds like I probably get a whole lot more contact before I even get a lap dance than they do the whole night. I guess a dancer sitting on your lap just talking to you before she asks for dances or grinding on you while tipping a dollar at the stage is out of the question in Oregon?
So what factors might affect the number of strip clubs?
Size of the city of course, and whether the laws are permissive. But also just as much whether the market expects clubs to be big establishments or small ones. Some cities will only approve licenses for clubs of limited square footage, presuming that keeps down trouble if a club starts attracting a bad element. Other cities give out fewer permits but for larger square footage in the theory that they can keep an eye on a smaller number of clubs easier.
Another factor is what forms of adult entertainment the city has decided to tolerate. So for example some cities decide to be lenient on massage parlors, others lenient on strip clubs, still others lenient on incall escorts. It is both a matter of allocating law enforcement and a little bit of creating something less visible than streetwalkers. Whatever the city decides to be less focused on stopping will become the dominant form of adult entertainment.
@SteveOR31, I live in Portland. Maybe you could send me a message on which clubs might offer the high mileage (unzipping your pants for Russian, having lipstick applied to your tool). I've gone to so many of these clubs, and I just haven't seen it.
PDX has a high number of clubs because the state constitution makes it damn near impossible to restrict opening a nude club. Dancer looks was above average IMO when I was last there. The down side is low milage on average. Which doesn't make any sense to me because you would think with all the compitetion there would be a milage war. IMO had a decent one-way dance at Safarri, farily on par with my east coast average. But didn't find anything exceptional.
I am with ranukam,.. steveor31 where to go for the mileage.. I hear casa diablo and erotica.. They are a little distant from me but if you know anything about these as well as the one you went to ?
