Would you say the dancers now aren't as hot as they were 10 to 15 years ago?

I now alot of you guys live in the bigger cities, therefore you have a better selection of women at the clubs but for me it seems the talent level has went down. I know there are always going to be a few unattractive girls in the club, but it just seems like where I am at, you are doing good to have a few "7's" in the club.

10 years ago I could go into a club and the girls ranged between 6-9, now it seems like most of the girls are between a 4-7. Again I know where you live has some part to do with it, but does anyone else feel this way?

Jpac- The number of clubs have practically doubled in the last 10-15 yrs, so you're going to have some talent dillution. But, yes, I've noticed that in a lot of clubs.

Jpac73. NO. The attractiveness has improved in Atlanta and in my favorite club in Columbia SC. The mileage has gone off the boards.I fell sorry for you in south GA/AL, I have been to clubs in the FL panhandle. They suck.

I wasn't really going to clubs 15 years ago, but I can beleive that quality has dropped a bit... Stripping went "main stream", even ugly girls think/want to do it...

I don't know if I can say, because I went for the first time 15 years ago, but it doesn't seem like it's either up or down. It might even be impossible to say, because 15 years ago, the dancers were the so-called Generation X and now they are Generation Y, and the norms between the two generations are different. I don't think I ever saw a tramp stamp before the millenium, for one thing. I just enjoy it for what it is.

10-15 years ago, some clubs had a few of the "girls next door", who looked like moonlighting cheerleaders. They were a feast for the eyes, but usually low mileage.

Today, it's rare to find that type. Like jester said, stripping has gone mainstream.

Back when I was a young 'en it was rare to find a really good looking stripper except in places like Vegas. When I was in college it seemed like the strippers were all older, at least they looked old. When strip clubs made the mainstream move the standards improved a lot and many fresh young faces started. Since then I don't think it's changed much and there's always many fresh young faces entering the business. I keep getting older but the strippers never age.

i am surprised that given the state of the economy, more really good looking women who can't find other employment have not turned to strip clubs.

That stripping went mainstream has a lot to do with what we see today. Back 15 years ago, strippers seemed more innocent and and as I recall, there was an almost mutual exploration between the girls and the clients.

Today, the girls seem more jaded - they know exactly why they're dancing but the clients also know what they want as well. Back in the day, offering extras was almost unheard of. Today, you're practically given a menu the moment you sit down.

If nothing else, today's atmosphere is a definite time-saver, if you're looking for extras.

As for looks, I agree with the other posters. We live in a harder society today and we're dealt harder dancers.

Yeah I agree that Stripping may be more mainstream than it was years ago, but also I think there are other types of business women can make quick money. For instance, there is a sight called herbiceps.com.

It is suppose to be a site where guys who like women who compete in figure & bodybuilding competitions can go and chat and most importly have WEBCAM sessions. The girl can do most anything except for get totally naked on camera. It suppose to be for women who are fit but there are some girls who don't look like they workout on there trying to make money.

I am not saying that there are alot of women doing this but the fact that there is a market for this type of stuff and also charging guys for talking to them over the phone are different avenues for women to make quick money other than stripping.

No, the major difference in the last 15 years is the influx of foreign born strippers in the clubs.

gatorfan, I think it must be a local thing. At my favorite club, in the last 8 years, I have only run across a couple. Just one Brazilian. A couple of Ckeches(sp) and a couple of other Latinos. They seem to congregate with their friends and relatives.Eastern European women leave me cold.

I forgot to mention they are on a witchhunt in trying to keep gentlemen clubs from opening in my area. The county commission in Dothan AL had the govenor to sign a bill this past August that makes it illegal for any new Gentlemens club to serve alcohol. They can still operate as a Bikini club or topless bar but can't serve alcohol.

A new club outside the city limits tried to open up 3 weeks ago. They were going to be a BYOB club. Well the county Commission stated that alcohol cannot be consumed on or within 500 feet of the business. The club got busted just after 2 weeks of being open. Said they allowed too much nudity(Have to have pasties over nipples) and alcohol was being consumed on the premises. The Manager got arrested.

There is another Gentlemans club that just opened last friday. They were able to get there liquor license before the law was past so they are free to serve alcohol. They are just a Bikini club. Haven't went there but I guess I might as well. May see some of the dancers from the other club working there.

I have not noticed much change in overall dancer quality over the last 15(or more) years. Yes there are more clubs and accordingly some dilution. On the other hand, the dancers make so much money now that there is a steady stream of new girls to offset the dilution. Each club I go to seems to have good and bad times with regard to dancer quality. If I don't think the quality is up to par I will go to another place for a while. After time the cycle will reverse and the weaker dancers will mbe replaced by better ones. It is basically a reflction of economics, the lower quality girls will not make enough to survive and they will eventually be replaced by dancers we are willing to spend our money on. That being said, I am not a big fan of tatoos and body piercings and we do see an awful lot of that now. I realize that is probably a reflection of society changing and we will just have to get used to it. I do think a girl without the body art will make a lot more money than those who do have it. May not affect the younger guys as much, but us older clubbers generally prefer the "no body art" type.

shadowcat, it must be a northeast thing, clubs from NJ to MA have quite a few foreign born strippers anymore. I was recently at a club usually known for having mostly american girls and a few other ethnic groups. The club is now about 90% foreigners now (asian, russian and some latin's).

I've noticed the talent is getting younger and better looking in my area. Of course, Florida's economy is not good, and our unemployment rate is high. Girls who would have worked retail right out of high school are now stripping. And there are plenty of foreign born girls. I met a girl from Belgium at one club. Peru at another.

It is probably a regional thing. Phoenix has always had an abundance of young hard bodies. I have not been in Houston long enough to go back 15 years, but in the last 4 the talent has been consistent. I used to travel a lot in the 80's, and remember that the areas that have hot women now had them then.

I probably go back longer than many of you except maybe Shadowcat, but in my college days, THE place on the East Coast to stop going north or south was the Block in Baltimore. This was long before the Inner Harbor was cleaned up. There were many fewer clubs everywhere, but that didn't mean the talent was any better or nicer looking than these days. What it did mean was in the few clubs where extras were the norm, the girls were raunchy. It's a little like the early days of porn when all but a handful of stars were skanks. Now there are 9's and 10's in porn, and I would say the overall talent in lots of clubs is better looking than in the early days. Sure there are lots of exceptions and regional differences, but in general we've come a long way since the days when the only nudes were tough old broads in county fairs, complete with cigars as props!

I've seen some lovely Eastern Europeans, and basically every other ethnic group. But most clubs have a broad range with 2's, 3's and 4's in with the occasional 8 or 9. Shadowcat is fortunate to get to PP as often as he does since in my experience, not many places have as consistently great talent. Some of my local clubs can be as different as night and day one day to the next.

As the availability of extras increased over the years, so did the influx of average looking girls willing to do them. How many times have you seen hot dancers sitting around, while the chubby plain jane dancer is constantly in the VIP?

You don't need to be a beauty queen to give BJ's (or DATY, in my case).

Except, lopaw, the best looking girls have also always been the most willing to do extras. Get a clue.

Definitely the mainstream factor, but also related to the influence of different club environments.

I think the talent level, just in terms of looks, is pretty constant, but the level of interest in the client has dropped off. In my heyday of clubbing, the early 1990's, I judged who I would spend time and money with on the basis if who really seemed interested in my entertainment. Today there are a few who still take that attitude but the approach, "Here's the menu and the price list, take it or leave it," is much more common.

My SC experience goes back over 30 years (yep, I'm an olde farte)and I cannot see a pattern that applies across the spectrum of clubs. In the old days of bikini bars, many of the girls were older and a bit scruffier, since the customer base in some of those places was working class. There were always a few gems and they got the attention they deserved. When the gentlemen's clubs came along and drew a more well-heeled clientel, the quality of the girls--and the cost of doing business--went up accordingly. For the most part, the same rule still holds true: scruffier, working class bars have more average to not-so-hot dancers with a few 9s for good measure; the more upscale clubs tend to have a better looking set of regular girls with a few dogs thrown in when staffing is a problem. The proliferation of tattoos on all types of girls has blurred the line a bit. As far as I am concerned, a 9 with a bunch of tats becomes a 7; a clean, smooth, unsullied 6 with a passable face and body comes off as more desirable in many situations.
BTW, Cravey, that is the coolest pic ever--chipmunks on dope; what's the world coming to?

My answer is that it depends on what you are looking for. Is it mileage, or is it looks? For example, if a guy is in his 30s (me), what do they really want. I for, example want a girl for mileage. I mean, if a dancer is 22 years old with a hot smoking body, that sells itself. Meaning, mileage is probably a lost hightway. Now, if you are a girl in their 30s, well, she's got more work to do to earn as much as the 22 year old. Plus, i get along with thirty year olds a lot better, conversation wise!!

Quality is down. Costs went up. Same thing happened to the Big Three in Detroit.
