Vibe check

Every place has its own vibe. Some are sports bars, some are dives, some are focused on luxury (what I prefer). Some emphasize the LD, some are all about the stage show and the dollar parade, some are VIP focused only, some don't even have a stage for a show.

I can review tuscl all I want, but still I have trouble getting that vibe right when trying a new place. You all have keywords you look for?

If you're in N NJ and have a chill place tonrec, send it my way. Everyplace I've tried has been super divey.

You have to go to Dallas or Houston for what you’re looking for. Large, luxurious, high end gentlemen’s clubs.

I don't have any keywords I look for. However, my general strategy when searching for clubs is to read past or just skim any reviews where the OP spent < $300. I don't find them objectionable, everyone can enjoy the club in their own way, it's just that I don't trust a reviewer who barely got any dances to give me a rundown of the entire experience from stage to lapdance to VIP room.

Here's another protip I'll offer: get in on the DM game. This site is like an iceberg, in that more than half the knowledge to be shared here takes place behind the closed doors of DMs.

If you're curious about a new area, read reviews, and pay attention to users who comment and review clubs in that area with frequency. Then send one or two of them a polite DM asking more specific questions.

Vibe is another one of those things that's highly subjective. What you call luxury focused I might call stuffy and pretentious. And what you call a dive I might call mid-tier or comfortable.

I don't have a specific club reco, but you can also comment on the reviews of potential clubs and ask, with the alerts function back the OP might just as easily answer such a question in the comments as they would in a DM. That way you're helping out the next guy with the same question.

You could also check to see if they've got an IG or something. A lot of clubs try to present as exclusive and lux that aren't, so keep that in mind. But I feel like most clubs IG's are informative enough to determine the general tier in terms of dives vs mid tier vs high end. You just gotta watch out for the two faced clubs that have dramatically different vibes depending on which shift you visit on.

Slightly on this note, as I have brought up in the past, I really think we should change the format, or more so add a new section where we review by city. Meaning each post will be a city and people put in different reviews regarding that city and what it has to offer in terms of how our Hobby here.

@myoman There's actually been quite a few articles that are a high level view of the scene in a city in particular. Some of them quite good.

If you search for site:TUSCL.net articles [CITY NAME] you'll probably find some good info. For example, if I do that with Detroit, I get a few good articles, such as @EastCoaster 's tuscl.net

I think the listing by city is probably a tough thing to incorporate. Because at the end of the day you really want to search by metro area and that gets complicated algorithmically. For example, the best clubs in Detroit are in Romulus or Inkster. Or in Ft. Lauderdale, the good clubs are in Pompano Beach. In St. Louis, you'd want to cross the river to Washington Heights, IL.

I did notice recently though that the individual state pages (for example tuscl.net now have a working map on them again. That's a feature resurrected, it looks like @founder just added that back after Google Maps jacked the price up.

@ronjax2 in my particular case that doesn't work great. NJ isn't organized around cities like most of the rest of the US.

@loopedcandle, I get it. There's a shit ton of clubs in New Jersey and your municipalities, TWPs or whatever you call them, are geographically small. I get the pain, I passed through Jersey recently and I was overwhelmed looking through TUSCL.

I might suggest, there's an opportunity for some of y'all (or, youse, if you prefer 😅) to write some definitive guides. Maybe one for South Jersey/Philly metro, one for North Jersey/NYC metro, and one for the beaches?
