Credit Card ONLY
A local restaurant / bar posted a sign that a credit card is needed for table service. Cash or credit card is accepted at the bar. The reason is customers go outside for a smoke and "forget" to return to pay for the check. Also, there is an outdoor seating area near the parking lot. Very easy for those customers to go inside to use the restroom and then go diectly to their vehicle rather than return to their table. I would never go that place because of privacy issues, risk of bogus charges and that the restaurant already believes I'm a thief.

Credit Card Fraud - Restaurants/Clubs
The only time I had a bogus charge put on my credit card was when I used it to make a purchase from a vending machine. It wasn't much, but nonetheless it was bogus. Most likely it would go unnoticed or people wouldn't remember the cost as they were travelling through the area.

Dancers Leaving The Clubs For Sugar Daddy Benefactors
I had two experiences with SB's, both were pre-COVID. Never again. The risk is too high, too expensive, too inconvenient, too uncertain, and little value for my money. SB1 wanted $400 for a dinner date, no sex. She would choose the restaurant and meet me there. Sex, if there were to be sex, is a possibility reserved for the very distant future. - No thanks! SB2 told me she keeps odd hours and would call me when available. It could be any day of the week. I would then need to have a paid motel room available. She could arrive anytime, but most likely from 1:00 AM to 3:00AM. No mention of her fee. - Sorry, not interested. I would have to be a desperate loser to patronize these SB's. I'll continue going to clubs.

Sounds like the city is trying to shut them down.
The club caused the problem. It didn't have an employee file on the premises which apparently is required because it has a sexually-oriented business license which allows for sexual entertainmet. They violated the law and were shut down. Why didn't they have an employee file on the premises? The City acknowledged the club could remain open and operate as a bar. The club is concerned the police will shut them down again operating as a bar. The club has overreacted and gets no sympathy from me.

I just noticed the new format with club listings
The New York listings looks good, but could be organized somewhat differently to make the clubs located in New York City easier to find for visitors. The current listing mixes the boroughs of New York with neighborhood names which causes confusion as to the location of the club. This can be resolved simply by having the heading "New York City" and under that heading have the five boroughs: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. All clubs currently listed as "New York" are actually located in Manhattan and would be listed under Manhattan. The Club locations listed as Astoria, Elmhurst, Flushing, Jamaica, Long Island City, Ridgewood, and Rosedale are all neighborhoods located within the borough of Queens. These clubs would be grouped and listed under Queens. And clubs with locations identified only as Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens would be moved under their respective New York City borough.

Unusual Signs a Girl is High Mileage?
As we were making small talk, she asked if I liked her new thong. She then positioned herself so I could take a much closer look. As I was looking, she smiled and "adjusted" her new thong.

Weird Lap Dance Incidents
Before the lap dance began, I've had the dancer try to sell me a VIP. She mentioned the VIP is totally nude. I tried to be funny and joked, "Do you mean I can get nude, too?" She replied, "No! And I wouldn't even want to see you nude - guy's balls are so ugly." What a buzzkill.

Lap Dance Ripoffs
I expect lap dance ripoffs and am prepared to deal with them. How about waitress ripoffs? You would think they are playing by the rules and not charging more than the menu prices, right? Nope, they can be ripoffs and scam artists, too. I ordered some simple finger food and the price was clearly stated on the menu. The dancer with me at the table also ordered some finger food. It was easy to determine the total cost because the prices were clearly stated and there is nothing on the menu stating that dancer food costs more. The food arrived and the waitress said that she'll get the check. She returned with the check and the total amount was about $15 more than the menu prices. WTF? I immediately knew it was a ripoff / scam when I saw the check. The menu items and prices were printed in a microscopic font making them impossible to read while the total amount was printed in a font Ray Charles could see. Obviously, they added some charges / fees they didn't want the customer to see. I didn't want to argue, paid the check and haven't returned.

Lap Dance Ripoffs
The dancers that charge more than the standard rate are simply following the model established by car dealerships which add a "market price adjustment" to the MSRP. They will charge what the market will bear.

Monotony
The reason why some clubs get the reviews and others don't may simply be due to the Pareto Principle, also known as the 80 / 20 rule. This phenomenon states that roughly 80% of outcomes come from 20% of causes. Strip clubs are the "causes" and the "reviews" are the "outcomes". So out of the population of strip clubs serving mongers about 20% will get reviews. And the Pareto Principle can also apply to the mongers writing the reviews, 20% of the mongers write 80% of the reviews. More generally, the Pareto Principle is the observation that most things in life are not distributed evenly.

New Florida Strip Club Law
The proposed new law will have little effect because I've only rarely seen a stripper younger than 21 working at a club. And those that did work, were identified with a color wristband so they were not served alcohol. It just places an additional burden on the club when hiring strippers.

Surge Pricing in Clubs
Restaurants and bars already have "dynamic pricing" so Wendy's is not doing anything new. Restaurants have "early bird" specials and bars have "happy hours." Also they can have daily and weekly "specials" featuring different menu items.

Penny wise/pound foolish
Sometimes dancers will act that way when they are just passing through. They don't expect to be at a club more than a few nights, perhaps a week. So they think very short term and are satisfied with a quick $10 or $20. I had a similar experience at another club. I was at a table with a dancer and we ordered some drinks. I didn't recognize the waitress. She demanded a tip before she returned to the bar and placed the drink order. The dancer knew the scam and said that $1 a drink tip would be good. O.K., I gave the waitress $2. The waitress got the drinks and I paid her for them. The waitress then waited and expected me to tip her again. I said, "no thanks. I already tipped you." The dancer just smiled. The waitress would have received much more than a $2 tip had she not pulled this BS. Apparently, this was her last week working and thought she could make a few extra dollars.

Focus in Club - Look Only, Socialize, or Both?
Once a dancer asked if she could join me at a table. I said that it was here to watch the stage. If you join me I'm not buying you a drink and not buying a dance. So it was up to her if she wanted to waste her time. She sat down and the waitress came over. I said that I was all set with my drink and the dancer said that she didn't want anything. The waitress left and returned in about a minute and asked again. The dancer again said that she didn't want a drink. I could tell the waitress was now pissed. As I was watching the stage, the dancer didn't say anything, moved in closer and began to massage my thigh. After about an hour, she said that she had to leave. I told her I enjoyed thigh massage and offered her a tip. She didn't take the tip, said that it wasn't necessary and left.
