Brittney Griner is an opportunist. She chose to play professional basketball in Russia, as it pays much more than the WNBA.
She also chose to bring a banned drug into a country with an already sketchy court/legal system.
She has the gift of height, and reasonable basketball talent. But, she doesn’t appear to have common sense, or great intellect.
She must have an agent, and an advisor as well. So, she was informed before she made the decision to go to Russia with an illegal substance.
Good luck playing the race card with Putin’s legal system! It’s going to be cold in a Gulag wearing prison clothing made for a 5’8” Russian dude!

His roles in Brian’s Song, The Godfather, and Misery were enough for a top level actor. I forgot he was in Rollerball!
Ray Liotta and James Caan passing within a short time of each other - that sucks.
The article didn’t mention his role in Las Vegas. I found him to be good in that show too. But, I primarily watched it to see the hotties in bikinis poolside.

The Republican danger is Trump. He could splinter the party, and with a country that is somewhat evenly divided, it could cost them the election.
The Democrats see the Trump influence, and they can paint him as an idiot, or the worst President in history. I’m thinking Trump has such a huge ego, it will be difficult for him to stay away from 2024. Desantis would be a very useful candidate, as long as he appears to be a common sense candidate, and one who isn’t controlled by Trump.
However, to bring the Trump contingent with him, he will need to find a way to gain their support. We all remember the way Chris Christie imploded politically after he became involved with Trump.
In my view, it is the republicans who should have the momentum. If the mid terms move right, then there could be a wave rolling into 2024.

Back in my heavy drinking days, I always wore my nice watch. I didn’t think about it, and I wore it to clubs. Sure, it was mostly noticed by guys at work. That was fine, no harm done.
One night I’m seated at the bar of a somewhat sketchy club in NNJ. I’m not really feeling fully comfortable, as I’m the only pasty white dude in the place. I get my beer, and I’m starting to settle in a bit. A dancer steps down from the stage, comes over and informs me that my watch isn’t working. I immediately check the watch, and it’s working fine. I show the dancer that the chronograph portion is not running. Then I realize that she knows I’m wearing a non fake, somewhat expensive watch. As you might expect, she stops over to sell me a dance. I thank her, and I say no. I have a second beer, and head out. That made me realize that some dancers notice watches.

I disagree that Buttigeg would not get the votes because he is gay. I think he’s shown, during his time in a cabinet position, to be overwhelmed and inept. That’s why I wouldn’t vote for him.
He’s in a cabinet role - and a vital role to our economy - and he takes paternity leave for the full amount of time allowed? Wtf?

Twentyfive - I agree. There is already a minimum age to be president, so a maximum age seems appropriate as well.
In terms of age limits on representatives and senators - it’s difficult to get that passed - with so many fossils already in those offices.

I think this is a real challenge for the Democrats as 2024 approaches.
The folks Tetradon mentioned are not likely to be viewed as popular candidates in the next presidential election. I think there will be some perennial runners like Bernie and Pocahontas Warren. But, Butt-a-jig has lost support after his inept handling of his position. I don’t think Schumer or Pelosi have a chance. The far left types like AOC and her squat lack broad bipartisan appeal - due to their super green agendas. If Newsom runs, I think he will have as much national support as DeBlasio (which is very little).
The November midterms could be very interesting, and they could provide an idea of what the country wants going forward.
Does all this party uncertainty give Hillary a foot in the door?

The world’s richest list is usually a list of folks who have gotten wealthy from certain businesses. In many cases, those businesses are publicly held corporations.
In most cases, investors want stable folks running large corporations. Granted, they want growth and earnings. But, if there was a guy running WalMart with the sexual habits of Charlie Sheen, I’m not sure how well investors would react. There are enough crazy things occurring without having a CEO’s whore mongering to become a distraction.
In years past, the CEO of Oracle, Larry Ellison, was known to be a skirt chaser. A buddy who worked for Oracle said there was a joke about his enjoyment of blondes. That type of thing is best kept in house.
I think that’s likely why we don’t hear much about the stuff that the very wealthy do. They understand the need to keep things quiet, as their wealth is likely directly related to the lack of bad news.
There will always be stories of the niece of the guy who was a former chairman of Microsoft who was rumored to be a total slut in college - but those are expected. If the guy who was a former chairman was caught having sex with his niece on video - that’s when it gets real.

It’s sad that a man was killed.
Sadly, strip club parking lots are best used for parking cars, and not lingering. There is a minimal chance of anything good happening by lingering after hours in a strip club.

I know my sense of humor is not normal. I accept the fact that many civilians - and possibly a higher percentage of strippers - will not find my comments amusing.
In terms of my interaction with that stripper, I knew she was very full of herself and enamored with her own beauty. My comment was a last ditch effort to see if she would crack a smile - or lose the stuck up act that lasted through both dances.

You describe the cash drain of the dollar parade quite well.
The selection and quality of the dancers is very good, and there are some other offerings that keep me coming back.
If it was easier to just hang out and enjoy the club (without a constant dollar parade) that would be great!

I would almost expect some level of that type of behavior at tourist trap clubs. They likely know their main customers aren’t regulars, so there is less concern about that sort of shit.
It’s not right, but it is likely easier to pull off with a high customer turnover.
