I haven't had a chance to hit the Phx clubs much this year but finally have some time this weekend to hit the town and get a heat check. I'll report back. Phoenix used to be a great sc town but unfortunately it requires more patience these days.

Bravo desertscrub, couldn't agree more. 75% of adults got the vax, 95% of people age 65+. We should be patting ourselves on the back and moving on with our lives. This is something we have and will continue to have live with. No amount of demonizing the unvaxxed will change that. It might be good politics to keep the left wing in the fold of the D party, but it's not leadership. Very disappointing.

I golfed yesterday, it was rough

Anyone else ever catch a weird vibe in the nude side? I've only been in there once but it seemed much more subdued, and it looked like a lot of people in there were on molly or something. Probably just there on a weird night.

I also am not seeing much talent in my limited trips to HL and BSC. And, we're entering summer season which is typically slower anyway.

I think the mask thing is just politics. Ducey's word should trump Kate's in a court of law but I imagine most businesses in Phoenix will continue with a mask policy but it will not be enforced. Will be interesting what these clubs decide to do. Not sure how much pressure the clubs have gotten from Mayor and Council / PD but my guess is while Gallego probably truly believes we should all still be wearing masks, her angry tweets about Ducey are just to score political points and the enforcement will probably be next to nothing considering she doesn't actually have the power to force people to wear masks.

I think it will get back to normal. Just won't be until those AZDHS dashboard graphs start plummeting, hard to predict when that will be. Over a million have been vaccinated already, seems like the vaccine rollout is going well so far.

I have a feeling we're in for a long winter. Even with the mask mandate Europe is seeing a 2nd wave and it seems like seasonality is a factor which means USA is next. If Biden wins he's already committed to putting Fauci in charge in a czar-like appointment. With the Democrats in control I don't see a lot of hope for visiting our favorite establishments anytime soon. Even if Trump wins he can't stop the media from hyping the panic and local jurisdictions from shutting shit down.

Have your black friends complained about racism in Arizona, or are you judging the state off message board comments from PL's? I haven't seen extensive racism personally in AZ, but that doesn't mean it isn't present. Everyone's experience is different.

Not sure how long you are in town for but I'd give it another shot before you leave and get a few VIP dances. Saturday night women are focused on the make-it-rain crowd. Also, BSC can seem "cold" to non-regulars but if you chill for more than an hour and get a couple of beers usually they warm up to you.

I've been following this story closely, and it's not that I ever truly "trusted" these intelligence agencies, but to see FBI/CIA and secret FISA courts all be so nonchalant on spying on American citizens involved in an opposing party's political campaign based on literally no evidence is pretty eye opening. Ducey caved on sending kids back to school too. He's too sensitive to social media criticism. Bars, gyms and schools are screwed indefinitely because of the keyboard warriors led by Nicole Grigg at Channel 15.

Yes, I believe he was going to throw his hat in for 2024. Problem is the guy has no charisma and he's managed to piss off both R's and D's in Arizona during the pandemic. Project Catapult? lol

winex - If Trump wins, I think Ducey bails on the state to join his cabinet like Napolitano did with Obama. If Trump loses, he may run for Senate in 2022 if Kelly wins this special election (which is likely) for the final two years of McCain's seat. If Arizona comes out okay he may be in good shape by that point, but he's getting beat to shit right now. Even Jan Brewer took a shot at him on Twitter last night.

Desert - thanks for responding, I agree with a lot of what you said but I'm not convinced a statewide mask mandate would do anything. We already have county wide and almost all cities mandating masks. He's already trying to increase testing. Your West Valley point is a very good one though. It's very easy to get tested in the East Valley but I was watching Nightline last night and people in Maryvale are lining up starting at 1 a.m. to get tested the next morning? That's insane. His communication is horrendous I agree. Hope we can get through this nightmare soon so we can get back to the clubz........

Desert - I'm not a Ducey fan either but what is your specific criticism? Do you think he should have shut the state down again? Close down restaurants all the way? I don't like his style at all but I'm not really sure what more he should do. I'm personally opposed to shutting down the state again but I totally understand the opposing viewpoint that we just need to shut down until the spike is over. It's not an easy call either way. Just trying to better understand what you hope he would do.

Ducey just finished his presser. He did NOT shut down the state per the rumors. Really not much more than try to stay home and wear a mask. Restaurants can only seat 50% capacity. Anyone catch any other news? I imagine our favorite haunts are probably going to remain closed for awhile though with the cases still spiking.
