The Committee to Unleash Prosperity !! LMAO Good one. Without even looking it up, one can tell it's a right wing group. They always have these feel-good, patriotic slogans for simple minds, like "Make America Great Again", etc. Though we can expect it will be biased, let's have a look anyways. The gist seems to be that "... if the Trump supply conditions had remained in place..." we'd be drilling a lot more oil today, and oil prices would be lower and we'd be energy independent.
That assumption about supply conditions remaining intact is a doozy. We've had major world events like Covid, and the subsequent impact on labor markets and consumer spending. Now the Ukraine war. In the midst of all of this upheaval, we are supposed to believe that Biden's rhetoric and policies have played a significant role in US oil production. The authors don't even once mention the impact of labor shortages. Good grief, try to find a more credible analysis, not this right wing crap.
Labor shortages capped central US oil, gas production in Q1, execs say

>When Biden killed the Keystone pipeline and stopped drilling - he let the world know the USA is not planning to be energy independent.
Not quite. Biden let the world know the US was moving to energy independence with more reliance on renewables and less reliance on oil. The US has not stopped drilling though - we are now drilling near record levels.

>This isn't a win for you. More money down the renewable energy drain hasn't done us much good. Drilling would actually provide energy security. But it's hard to invest when a major political party talks about putting you out of business.
Far from money down the drain. Government policies, investments and subsidies have played a key role in the expansion of renewable energy usage in the last decade - almost quadrupling. As I also posted, we are still drilling - at near record levels.
You sound like a disgruntled oil & gas worker who lost their job, and now bitterly blames Joe Biden instead of corporate CEOs. Not saying you are, you just sound like one.

BTW, 2023 is on track to be a record year for US oil production. So much for Biden being "anti-oil".
The U.S. oil industry is gushing, with record production expected in 2023 as companies try to cash in on high prices

Let's see
Biden - Just signed the biggest investment in renewable energy in US history
Republicans - Drill baby drill
Biden has the right direction. As decisions like OPEC demonstrate, the less we are dependent on oil the better. The Keystone pipeline is largely a Republican talking point, it would not have significantly impacted the supply and price of oil, which is a global commodity.

There is no basis to believe OPEC would have acted any different if we had a Republican president, what a stupid assumption.
Most Americans support addressing climate change and moving more to green energy. That's part of why Biden won the election. Did you notice gas prices came down recently, thanks in part to Biden. But he can't control all the factors influencing the price of energy. Or inflation.
Biden still has a superior direction for the country. I don't see anything better from Republicans. In fact all I see from them is obstruction, hot air and insults.

The exchange rates are very good for many countries now. Flights to Colombia or Brazil are available for 1000 or less, I'm looking at a trip down there next month. I also prefer the clubs there - unlike the FKKs where the girls are half nekkid, the girls are dressed in sexy casual attire, with the opportunity to drink and socialize before taking them to a room or back to your hotel.

This guy Dave Anderson is completely lost. The news reports have consistently indicated that Russia was mobilizing large numbers of foreign fighters, not just Russians. Nobody thinks Russia had it's entire army in Ukraine. But now that a large segment of those fighters have been killed or injured, the next wave will be much more of a Russian slaughter. That's why huge numbers of Russian men are now fleeing the country.

Putin doesn't need any help from the "military industrial complex" to make him look dangerous, and justify military spending. Putin did that all on his own. That "complex" doesn't run the show , they are not that influential. It is our elected officials and the Americans they represent that understand the US is the leader of the free world and has an essential role to play in promoting democracy and fighting tyranny. If that were not the case we would see a movement to slash military spending. While there are people that want to see that happen, such a movement has not gained significant traction.

This just means more Russian men will get slaughtered once they enter Ukraine. We'll see how long Russia can sustain that.

@Mark- Bernie Sanders strongly condemned Putin's actions in Ukraine. It was Trump that called Putin a "genius".
Yeah Putin's success in Ukraine at this point is really making him look like a genius. Isn't this just another indicator that Trump doesn't have a clue? Dems should run that in their election ads.
BTW I think we'd need a deeper analysis to see if the US government has actually over-represented the threats from Russia and China. That's a complex analysis, I sure as heck ain't gonna take your word for it lol.

I have respected Biden for a long time, he is center-left as am I. Biden and Dems will run on both their records and recent legislative achievements, as well as the threat from MAGA extremists, and of course the abortion issue. All good and appropriate things to campaign on.

^ All related to his age, which is stupid, not his judgement which is usually pretty sound.
Along with the extreme element of the Republican party, the rest of the party is largely simply useless, as far as solving big problems. Republicans are good at complaining but terrible at addressing unmet needs and issues. Their big things are always drilling for oil, restricting abortion access, and cutting taxes (mostly for the rich). Climate change, health care, economic inequality ? Republicans have been useless on these issues, and would just rather complain, deceive and get their base riled up.

My opinion - those who support the dishonesty and lawlessness of Trump's efforts to retain power and privilege in violation of our laws and the Constitution

No doubt there is some influence here from mainstream Republicans as well, they are tired of the extreme MAGA element as much as if not more than Dems.
Biden is pushing the wedge a little deeper... make it very clear the choice Republicans have and let them choose.

False. He is calling out an extreme element in the Republican party. Not all Republicans.

Biden has a long history of working across the aisle. He'll respect people with different viewpoints as along as the interactions are civil and respectful, and our laws are respected.
Unfortunately, the extreme element of the MAGA crowd does not demonstrate this behavior, and Biden is 100% correct that this element is a threat to our democracy.
