I moved to Florida in 1989, from Long Island safety wasn’t a consideration when I moved here it was purely a feature of warm weather, being able to be outside to enjoy, golf, fishing, and swimming, spending time at the beach, and running around in a 30 foot boat all year long. Never worried about safety, still don’t think about it very much, not even when I visit family in NYC, there are some things that we do which might be considered a precaution, but overall I don’t give it much thought.

Upstate New York might as well be a completely different state, New York generally refers to everything south of Rockland County, which includes, Rockland, Westchester County, NYC and the boroughs and Long Island which includes 2 of the 5 boroughs Brooklyn, and Queens, and both Nassau and Suffolk Counties. north of Rockland is a huge land area which is sparsely populated except for a few cities, BTW Buffalo is a fairly large city as is Albany, and Syracuse and a few medium sized cities. lots of farmland and wilderness is included in Upstate New York. New York is the fourth largest populated state of which, is about 20 Million, total with about 14 million living in NYC metropolitan area about 35% of the states population lives in what is considered upstate New York

Last time there was any meaningful change in immigration Ronald Reagan was president, since then we’ve had a bunch of administrations and, much of the economy has changed, we used to have lax controls on entry to keep wages low, the thinking has changed, we started offshoring our industries to curb hiring of immigrant workers and increase profits by not having to care for those folks, we realized that we decimated our manufacturing capacity, so we started reshoring our factories, then we realized we needed workers so we flipped our priorities again, sorry buddy this is an issue with enough blame to hit both parties, we need some intelligent people to sort this out, this is a bipartisan problem. The solutions to many issues are wrapped up in this critical problem.

^ why would you expect help from places that you demonize, what’s in it for NYC, Boston, Chicago, or California to accept bus loads of homeless folks, from Texas or other places, illegally here or not, this is just kabuki theatre. I doubt the newly minted label, most rapists commit 6 sex crimes before they are caught, probably more when you take into consideration that less than one out of every three rapes are reported. The defense outcry of sexual battery is not rape, is disingenuous, it's amazing that anyone would defend this out loud, tells us that our world has changed and not for the better.
