We will probably not know until years in the future if this war was a mistake. It could end with a victory or it could become another Vietnam style quagmire. North Vietnam was another country we were going to bomb back to the stone age. The Iranians will most likely retaliate to massive American air strikes by bombing the oil production facilities of our Middle East allies. If they are successful, we are likely to see higher prices here in this country, followed by a recession and the Republicans doing badly in the midterms.

It's not damaging to put Democrats back in power. Trump spends our money like one of his failed businesses and debt skyrockets out of control. Look at our debt in the last 40 years when a Democrat is president vs a Republican. Look at job creation Democrats vs Republicans. Republicans ALWAYS leave the economy much worse than when they took office.

What I said isn't opinion. Those are facts. Compare the numbers and tell me I'm wrong. Democrats do MUCH better with the economy. Our debt with Republicans in office is literally unsustainable. How much money is being wasted on this war?

We did much of the heavy lifting already. Killed a lot of top guys. What we destroyed will take decades to rebuild. No need for boots on the ground. I would a way to get the greater populace at large small arms. Arm them. Let THEM do it. Give them a chance. What are they going to do unarmed? It'll all happen naturally. This is really case in point why we need to protect the 2nd Amendment at all costs in our country. A government can do whatever they want to unarmed folks. Sane America does not support Trump. He's incredibly unpopular right now. What is his approval rating? Overwhelmingly Americans have said they want Trump focused on the economy as their number one issue. Instead he's focused on starting extremely expensive wars with no plan of how to get out of them, taking bribes on his crypto coin, bribes of private jets, focusing on his ballroom etc. As always it's all about himself and he's done nothing to make life more affordable. As to those presidents, we’ve made it ever more likely that the dems will crush the midterms and the 2028 presidential elections. The worst part of that is not the result itself but the how. They can likely effectively run on an anti-Trump anti-war campaign without offering any moderating policies of their own. It will swing the pendulum further left and not back to the middle.

The strategic bombing of Nazi Germany, at a greater scale, did not neutralize it as a military threat. Military age Americans don't see saving Israel as their fight. Even if they did, the effectiveness of a ground invasion of Iran is as unlikely as it was in Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam. The best that air attacks can do is deter Iran, not neutralize it as a threat. Cargo ships will have to be retrofitted for remote/auto pilot through the Straits of Hormuz. Hopefully US voters will put on their big kid pants, and face the fact that no President of either party can prevent inflation due to supply disruptions.

Wasn't it Warren Buffet who said that Trump isn't like other billionaires -- he doesn't generate wealth, he generates debt. Everything Trump builds and owns, he borrows money for.

And it makes me wonder if Putin and Xi might be borrowing from Reagan's playbook. The USSR collapsed economically because of the escalating arms race. Russia and China might be pitching in to help Iran, but they're forcing Trump to spend money the US just doesn't have.

The US is, what, $39 trillion in debt. Just a couple, three weeks ago, I saw a quip from the Treasury that the US is basically insolvent. It's sounding like the US is well on its way to economic collapse.

Saying that countries should be centered around a racial/religious basis is much, much, much better than going around saying you want to just kill anyone who doesnt think like you or look like you. Its not normal to constantly contemplate which countries around the world should be attacked.

Generally speaking wars should only be started for self defense. Any violence in general should be for defensive purposes.

I’ll stand by my post. Trump is ok with them having ballistic missiles. He’s ok with not taking their nuclear material or destroying their centrifuges. He’s also saying that he had to cut a deal because otherwise we’d have a stock market crash and because gas prices were too high. This is what we get when we have a president who makes decisions on hunches.

Its pretty obvious why the ballistic missile stuff wasnt part of the deal. Numerous instances of israel attacking them. If israel was more peaceful, they probably could have agreed to no missiles too. The initial war was not launched because of the missiles regardless. That is just something people like rubio started claiming after the war started.

Trump and vance recently flat out admitted they thought it would be unfair to ask them not to have missiles since other countries in the region have them. Its just not a realistic request to even have in a deal- chances are anyone asking for no missiles as part of the deal is probably just trying to sabotage the deal entirely.

There likely won’t be a deal, because this conflict is far from done. We will walk away from it because conflict is a way of life in the mid east, and no intervention will take away this life. Anyone remember reading about the 7 Day War? The dynamics of their cultures are way too confusing to the West.

@440viking my friend according to Trump the current leaders he negotiated with are the third set of Iranian leaders, because the previous 2 sets were already killed off… so how many sets of leaders would you say the iranian people need to rise up and dispose of before the leaders are acceptable?
