Regarding SJG…or, as I called him, the San Jose Ape…I liked the guy. Yes, he was a weirdo. And he probably could have been a little less into his whole “Imma superglue you anus closed” to the people that made fun of him. But this lion wants you to tell the truth: did you think he was anything other than a harmless weirdo?

Yes, the whole “my mommy let me cross the street all by myself” isn’t as aggressive as “where’s my staple gun? Imma staple some buttholes!” But I never really felt that the San Jose Ape was going to attack the butthole of another TUSCL poster. Tell the truth: you didn’t think that either!

The life blood of this website is reviews and yet many contributors can’t be bothered writing reviews these days. I believe Founder has addressed some aspects of review being processed more easily with only 4 members needing to affirm a review. There are 20 or so contributors whose comments I used to see in my feed, but that feature has been removed more than once. I see them now only if they write an article or they comment on a favorite club. I personally would like Willyo and others to return to reviewing clubs, but I understand that they found “group rule 2017) to be a disincentive. I want content and can sift through typos and grammar issues that made my “c..tabeast” 8th grade English teacher an all time Beast!!! ATB!!!
Minnow obviously honors the ATB with his want for perfection, but this is only calling out his need for clarity!
Lastly some contributors have moved on, as the board no longer offers them something in their interests today.
The air has been let out of the locker room due to site changes and comedic contributors being sequestered, whether their own doing or by force. There’s just little relief to share your worldly experiences on this site when feedback has been disrupted.
When the dynamics of 10 years ago were at play, we got great material from guys who could dish out some pretty funny stuff, and some other guys who got butthurt pretty easily. Maybe the MeToo movement had something to do with it, but either we got too sensitive or desensitized to all the noise. I would say that once the site changes slow down and members can get used to the layout and operating this site for their needs, likely we will see engagement pick up. Granted 10 years ago a lot of the engagement was busting chops, but some guys really showed their craft exceptionally well, which brought back much youthful spirits.
New layout disincentivizes feedback in every way.
No thumbs up/thumbs down? Less feedback.
Only 4 adjudicators to publish a review? Less feedback (and more garbage approved).
No Top 40 members reviews published? Less incentive to write reviews.
Constantly having to relearn a new interface? More members just give up on learning it at all.
You write a review nowadays and it just gets lost in a deluge of low effort crap. Buried by pending reviews since they don't have their own page anymore. No comments, no feedback. Feels like... what's the point?
Soon this board will just be SL777 spamming hundreds upon hundreds of unrelated images on every post 😂 Once again, a deluge of information with little value. And less and less incentive to parse through it all...
The mute feature stopped the trolls. Same with reauirinv membership. I am glad @founder took action against those annoying trolls that do not srite reviews.
I asked all the newbie questions when I was one. Haven't seen any newbies doing that lately. I'll try to think of some good conversations to get started 🤔
I remember checking this site out back around maybe 2010. I just recently officially joined. One problem I face is that, being married and all, I don't get to clubs nearly as much as I like. So I'm starting to worry that my membership is gonna wear off. I would really love it if once you did a review, if you at least started discussions or kept things going in other ways, you could stay a member. Maybe that's how it works as it is, I don't know. Maybe I need to start thinking of Article ideas. I do see what PAWG_Patrol means about feedback and incentives with the new layout. This board has a treasure trove of info, but to find it, you have to dig.
But thinking about where I live, it does seem lots of clubs have closed and/or changed in the last few years. Some clubs are in neighborhoods I would never go to. I brought up the idea of Sex Shops because for me personally that's also part of the hobby, I have had fun going to them too. I think you can also add Sex Clubs to the list. There was a time when I could not even name a sex club, now I know of like six within driving distance.
I am also thinking that with commercialization of Sex Shops, increase of Sex Clubs, mainstreaming of Sex Recreation and Swinger Events etc, that some new and really different types of Strip Bars will come into being.
It’s a new era. People come and go. That’s life.
Many of the classic submitters have retired or died. More in the clubs have never heard of this site, believe it or not. So doesn’t surprise me to see less reviews. However, in cities I’m around all over the country the reviews (new and old) have helped. Less scam ones now I feel. But overall there’s less action in most clubs to note since covid years, hands down. Hobbyists share it, older girls in clubs share it, even bouncers and barkeeps have shared it….
Lotta doom and gloom. Clubs closing, girls are uglier, club fees are higher, and extras are more expensive or not available at all, and this site is going to pot. It’s all a matter of perspective. For somebody like me who just got into the hobby about 6 years ago and got on this site a couple years after that, things are looking pretty good. Maybe ignorance is bliss

There are so many factors at play that it feels impossible to try and nail down the leading cause of a less active discussion board. There are also many unique personal preferences and reasons which members have or joining here. I also do not lament the absence of SJG, randomloser, or 25iq. The quality of discourse on this board has been significantly elevated since they stopped participating.
For my part, referring only to in-hobby posting, I have been travelling less than I used to. We concluded our latest round of growth in mid-2025. It looks like I will only be travelling for business 2 or 3 times annually, and not always to places with any or any decent strip clubs. My local strip clubs are too awful to bother with. I still have clubs in my usual travel cities bookmarked. Although, most of them have gotten too crazy with prices or the quality of dancers has dropped too far.
I think, 10 years ago when I joined TUSCL, there were fewer incels. I have already noted and complained about the discussions all about whether or not a single, specific dancer still works here or puts out in VIP. I don't remember that from the past. This is not american sex guide. That is the lowest form of participation on the board, and sometimes the front page is filled with those posts.
Everything moves in ebbs and flows. This board is no different. However, culture also marches on and changes. I don't think strip clubs are going to be growing at all, and I think we are seeing the inevitable slow decline leading to them being only a locally preserved relic in a few urban pockets.
I do think the board is dying. I can't say for sure why but can only say why my personal participation was never much and has dropped to almost zero lately:
The site design now is horrible - ugly and only borderline usable, and they keep fucking with it for no apparent reason. Please just revert to what it was a few months ago before the last round of big changes, and then just stop fucking with it. Oh and the lack of dark mode is such an eye strain.
I've had my VIP on auto pay almost since I first joined, I think of the money as already spent so I have zero motivation to go through the hassle of writing a review or article and getting it approved.
I used to post in discussions occasionally, but I've dropped back to being almost entirely a lurker now. It's almost impossible to say anything without uncalled for hostile, aggressive responses, so my attitude now is fuck it I don't need the hostility in my life. Every so often i have to re-learn the lesson not to bother interacting with other mongers, it never ends well. I'm only posting now in hopes somebody will get the message why at least some people are abandoning the board. Mute would be useful if it were two way, but the current one way mute doesn't cut it.
I don't even lurk as much anymore because discussions are so full of comedians, flame wars, politics bleeding into front room threads, endless smash or pass threads and various other nonsense. When I do lurk, ninety percent of the time I'm not even logged in anymore.
I don't even get much use out of the reviews any more given the crap that somehow gets approved.
I'm increasingly leaning toward turning off my paid VIP unless I'm planning a trip to a club I don't already know pretty well.
