Any recommendations for a decent club in New Orleans? A few of my friends went last fall and just said they where a low mileage high cost place to go.
They said they had more fun with the girls that approach you walking down the street by bourbon street then the clubs. Any insight would be great - thanks
It's not a good strip club scene. The clubs in the French Quarter are not a good value and mainly there to rip off drunk tourists. If you still insist on going to a SC downtown, Penthouse on Rue Iberville has the hottest dancers. Fifteen years ago extras were common in at least half of the strip clubs. There were crackdowns and shut downs by the state, and any fun now is celibate.
There is a club in New Orleans East called Visions. Visions is where "the locals go". It is not great, but less hustle compared to the places trying to rip off tourists. It is too easy to seduce and bed women in NOLA to bother paying for lap dances. There are a lot of women on vacation or from bachelorette parties looking to bang. What happens in the Big Easy stays in the Big Easy.
From 20+ years ago Mardi Gras visit ... while checking out regular music/dance clubs I would meet women and after a little dancing a man would appear and ask if I was interested in taking the woman/women to the hotel for a little fun. It happened often enough that I figured it must be standard procedure there. I never got around to looking for a strip club. There were also two occasions where a man wanted me to go to the club restroom with him. Thanks, but no. These things haven't happened to me anywhere else.
If you've got the game to pull civilians, there are many and they are drunk and they are looking for fun. The N.O. AMP scene seems horrible, but there's a quite excellent "massage" scene with very attractive women - YMMV. Penthouse has good looking women - and the cover charge is cheap to have it as an option for clean restrooms while partying on Bourbon Street. OTC is possible, but a challenge and expensive. Visions has easier take out menu, but still hit or miss on any given night. Good luck! Look forward to reading your reports.

Go with low expectations if you want to go. There’s so much other food, drink, gambling and other fun in NOLA that you’ll be fine either way.
