Somebody educate me. I know that there is some kind of alcohol in those tubes. But what? and what are the different flavors? And what are they made of? I personally have no desire to share one with a fully clothed girl sitting on my lap.
It really varies day to day. But its some little mixed shot most of the time. Never really anything straight up except for Jager. My hubby was a bar manager and they usually mixed the crappy stuff up and sold it at a 400%+ mark up.
Shot girls are my all time pet peeve. The stuff in the tubes is just flavored Vodka, cheap liquer (sp?) or schnapps. Cost to make it up is about $0.41 per tube. The shot girl buys them from the club @$2.00 per tube and tries to sell them @$5 a tube. When she is pushing shots, she is trying to recover her investment and make a profit. That's why she waits for a dancer to sit next to you and then comes over to ask you to buy the dancer a shot. If you are stupid enough to say yes, then the drill is to buy one for the dancer, yourself and the shot girl. $15.00 gone on less than $1.50 worth of cheap booze. The dancers are expected to help the shot girl push these tubes on customers. I've told dancers that I would rather spend the money on dances and half of them say that they are expected to help the shot girl sell or she gets stuck with a tray of tubes she's paid for and no way to cover her costs, much less make a profit. But what does the customer get out of this transaction. Absolutely nothing!
It's just a BS way for the club to make money. The shot's themselves are generally watered down cheap vodka with a variety of food color and flavorings. It's really all about the girls. They buy the tray of shots from the club and then go out on the floor and sell them in exchange for whatever the going rate is. Sometimes the shot is delivered in the form of a semi lap dance, sometimes they just pull your head back and pour it down your throat.
"Maybe the shots are whatever the fuck the bartender happened to mix up? I think the shot girl would be able to answer these questions." Sounds like a typical business transaction to me...and the customer gets screwed...
I hate the institution of the shot girl (not the girls themselves, but what they are doing) at every club EXCEPT Oasis Goodtime Emporium in Atlanta. There, I have gotten some of the best service ever from some incredibly young and sweet shot girls.
grenedine and various juices are mixed in the shot. Also sometimes itll be a jello shot or a "taste test on a new sig drink the bartenders tryin. Sometimes the girl doesent buy the shots individually but the entire bottle and has to sell that. Its a huge rip off on her part cause if she doesnt sell em she still has to pay for the bottle.
Actually a dancer I know started working shifts as a shot girl at one point and made almost as much as she did dancing on good nights and more than on slow nights-with no house fees or tip outs! Of course, in this particular club she was allowed to climb into the customers lap though she couldn't take anything off...
In many clubs the shot girls are the best dancers in the club. But, yes, those drink are nasty. I was in a club one time and the shot girl was sitting at a table with a couple dudes and the dudes were using the full shot tubes for ash-trays. The girl then walked around and sold the shots. Poor dudes.
