RFK Jr. and upcoming races

Monday, May 1, 2023 1:00 PM
Any thoughts on Robert Kennedy Jr. coming out to run, polling already at 19%? Talk about great name recognition, can't do much better than that. Although he sounds like he's got the worst case of strep throat of all time, damn dude take a Ricola. I probably disagree with him about a lot but some antiestablishment points he's made have really impressed me, if he wins the nomination I probably wouldn't be too upset, sounds like a throwback type liberal. I also think if it looks like he's got a chance you'll see guys like Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker and Eric Adams smell blood and jump in the race too. Call me crazy but maybe even Hilary. GOP side. I gotta be honest I think this could turn out to be the most interesting group the Republican party has put forth in a real long time. Looks like Trump, DeSantis, Tim Scott, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Larry Elder maybe Mike Pence and a few others. Those primary debates are gonna must watch. Hell, Trump vs DeSantis alone is a showdown pay per view worthy. Would I feel better about the country seeing a RFK Jr. vs Ron DeSantis instead of a 2020 rematch? Yeah I probably would, I'm ready to turn the page honestly. Either way should be a real crazy year. Your guys thoughts/predictions on how this all shakes out?

Democrat side, a sitting president is getting the nod unless they find him with his dick inside a boy or a dog. Everyone else is playing for attention or the next election cycle. Republican side, it's ass early to make predictions because Trump has a formidable capacity to self destruct but he's still showing the best political instincts on their side, realizing a lot of this culture war stuff is distracting garbage. DeSantis is not taking advantage of his spotlight, focusing on Disney and mentally ill children. Haley acts too entitled. Scott isn't differentiating himself. Vivek is likely positioning himself for a Trump cabinet spot and a serious 2028 run. I'd bet on a rematch, and Trump winning now that Biden has an anchor of a record to run on. Trump is leading in an average of polls.

If Biden is healthy enough to run, he wins the nomination. I'm definitely curious how dirty Trump vs Desantis will get. Desantis is willing to go under Thump.

I ant remember who - but some respected political analyst said Trump and RFK as the VP would be the ticket that would get a lot of attention. Could you imagine those two together?

I hope Biden is forced to resign or they throw his ass out when he literally can't function at all. What this country needs is a good dose of that stupid cunt Kamala for a year or so. We hit rock bottom right before the 2024 general election, and Democrats will be finished for the next few election cycles. Plus we make history yet again with so many boxes checked: 1st AA woman Pres, 1st Indian Pres, 1st Indian woman Pres, 1st cackling hyena Pres, 2nd Pres who can't form a coherent sentence, 1st AA Pres who can't form a coherent sentence, and so on...

IDK too much about RFK - he seems to be a bit at odds with the DNC and thus I think the DNC-machine would kneecap-him like it seemed to happen to Bernie Sanders.

w.r.t. the Republican ticket - I think DeSantis will pull it out - the RNC establishment probably prefers him and I think a good # of Trump-supporters may feel DeSantis is more electable in a general-election (i.e. a safer bet even if they prefer Trump).

DeSantis's problem is Floridians might not vote for him because they want him to remain as Governor. It would be like the opposite of '92 when Arkansas voted for Clinton to get rid of him.

If its Biden against Trump this country will deserve to perish from the face of the earth. Two biggest semen stains in world history.

    RFK recently tweeted ([view link]),
"The claim that FedNow is not the first step toward a CBDC would be more easily digestible were we not aware of the Biden administration’s steady barrage of hostile broadsides against cryptocurrencies. Between 2008-22, the Fed partnered with a handful of big banks to print $10 trillion-ten centuries of wealth in 15 years — a bonanza for the Banksters. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin give the public an escape route from the splatter zone when this bubble invariably bursts. So the White House is colluding with the banksters to keep us all trapped in the bubble of profiteering and control. In his Feb. 8 post on Pirate Wires, Nic Carter (@nic__carter) describes how the White House has organized bankers to participate in a sophisticated, widespread crackdown to destroy the crypto industry. Carter describes 15 incidents where President Biden has weaponized FDIC, OCC + DOJ to force crypto-friendly banks to close their doors to crypto firms since Dec. 3. The recent crackdown on crypto blocks exit ramps, removes alternative rails, and strengthens government control over both the financial and political systems. We should be wary since CBDCs are the ultimate mechanisms for social surveillance and control. As Balaji Srinivasan (@balajis) says, “The distinction between FedNow and a CBDC is important from a technical standpoint, but not from a civil liberties standpoint.” Balaji compares FedNow to “a virus that has evolved to evade recognition by changing its sequence without really changing its function."
The problem of modern democracy, I think, is that the citizens have a hard time of knowing who is honest and who isn't. Does a politician say things merely to get as many votes as possible in order to win, and then implement the policy and legislative changes that were promised to their biggest donors, regardless of whether or not those changes adhere to the values espoused during the campaign? I think that's a strong possibility, if not also a high probability. I think people should be (and are) less concerned about politics and more concerned with social and technological trends, and with making the best decisions for themselves and their posterity given the continuation of those trends. In other words, the president is just another old man flapping his big, fat, wrinkly lips. If he wants to drive the country further into a socialist dictatorship, fine, I'll move to a jurisdiction that treats me better, and so will everybody else when it gets really, really bad. Fortunately, we're still quite a ways away from that situation.

^ Where’s the steak, you crypto fans are only talking up the sizzle. When crypto gets specialists and market makers I’ll believe it’s real, until that occurs it’s pure speculation

@25, one has to question the wisdom of proselytizing crypto on a site where no one has expressed interest. It's like SJG wanting to talk Fiat carburetors here. He thinks we're some anti crypto fanatics when we'd all rather talk pussy.

^ The election is about 18 months away and there’s plenty of time to make politics a priority, right now the only thing that is certain is Biden will stand for reelection, I personally will be very surprised if Trump actually gets the nomination, the Republicans know he’s responsible for the loss of the last three elections and if you’re honest he’s not won even in 2016, except for the way the system works, awarding electoral votes to folks that can’t actually win an election. At least the previous guys that won on that technicality, were legit and had actually won previous elections, but Trump never has. The only thing he ever won was being born with a silver spoon on his ass. I don’t like the entire situation we have here in this country but it’s way past time we retired all of these phony fucks with their multi thousand dollar Brioni and Hugo Boss suits, and fancy haircuts, that live like princes on the taxpayers money, and I do mean all of them, I wish I could give my kids the advantages they deserve unlike these princes from both parties with their legal inside trading and these fucking judges that take million dollar vacations along with governors and congressman flying all over the world and being paid and fed like the wealthy pigs they are. I say fire the whole lot of them and start over with legitimate citizens willing to step up and do the right things for America, than after a period of service go back to whence they came from and be satisfied with the blessings of liberty and live like good men not god of the ancient world

There it is… the tizzy. Keep on digging those holes you’re standing in, I’ll be sure to check in on your progress every now and then. Lol. Now I don’t mean to interrupt the discussion. You guys go back to talking about politics… er, I mean, “pussy.” Hehe.

It used to be that opening a thread on bitcoin was the only way to distract Dougster from trolling VinceMichaels and RickDugan for a short while. I don't want Biden to be the Democratic nominee, but minus some major event he will be. I have no idea who the Republican nominee will be, but if Trump is in the mix then the Republican primary debates will require multiple wheelbarrows of popcorn.

Can't wait to see what happens when Trump calls DeSantis's wife ugly. Will he push back, or will he bend the knee and take it all down his throat like Ted Cruz did?

RFK Jr. won't get the Democrat nomination because he is a traditional liberal. The modern-day Democrat party has been moving in a fascist direction. It believes in the marriage of big government and big business. Kennedy has attacked big pharma for supporting Covid vaccine mandates, the military-industrial complex for supporting the Ukraine intervention, and big tech for supporting censorship. He's attacking the big business supporters of the corrupt Biden regime.

The idea that Trump didn't win exactly how the system has always worked in 2016 is fucking idiotic. There is no national vote; it is meaningless and Trump win in 2016, despite the cheating and lies of the Democrats and the FBI, neither group being real Americans. Didn't vote for the asshole, but stop acting like foreign dick wads.

To be honest, I don’t know a whole about about RFK Jr except he’s an extreme tree hugger. But geez, can’t the Dems at least nominate someone he wasn’t a heroin addict. And between Kamala and RFK they aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer. It really isn’t that hard to study and pass a bar exam

@skibum What I was saying wasn’t that he didn’t win, what I was saying was he couldn’t win any election where he needs to actually win the election ( plurality) because he never has, he couldn’t get himself elected dog catcher at mar a lago In other words fuck him and his sleazy family along with the other side as well.

Well said sir ^. Really not hard to study and pass a bar exam? That is not true at all. Very few other exams require a preparation course that is actually a bit longer and has more requirements than a law school semester. Even with three years of law school and a preparatory course, only 44% of Mass test takers passed in February this year.

“Really not hard to study and pass a bar exam?” You’re probably right…I just wanted to take a shot at Kamala and Bobby Junior. But on the other hand….isn’t Kim Kardashian studying for the bar without going to law school? We will see if she passes

RFK has his flaws, but he genuinely believes in the policies he espouses. Unlike pretty much every other politician.

And furthermore, if one considers the schools they both went to RFK we to UVA which has a 98% exam pass rate Kamala went to U of California which has an 85% exam pass rate Neither performed to the level of their education. Can we conclude RFK was admitted by his name recognition and Kamala by affirmative action? The poor schools really drag down the state average. The illustrious Thomas Cooley Law School in Michigan only has a 45% pass rate. I don’t know that the bad law schools are In Massachusetts - but I suspect they are pulling down the scores or Mass has an exceptionally difficult test

Problem is most anyone whom I’d like to be a candidate for POTUS would rather do anything else. I can’t imagine anyone sane or competent would want the job enough to go through the agonizing process of trying to become the next president.

RFK and Trump are evidence that the majority of voters are aware of how deeply corrupt Washington is. Voters are desperate to purge the system and they will support anyone they believe is dedicated to cleaning house, no matter how personally flawed that candidate might be. That’s why attacks on Trump, or Tucker Carlson, only make them more popular. The elite, both Democrat and Republican, think they can play that old game of pretending to be with the people, while enriching themselves. They have been exposed. That old playbook no longer works.

The states that have the highest fail rates for the bar exam, usually have the toughest bar exam, not thw worst law schools. Vermont has a 54% pass rate, but only has one law school, so most people taking the bar went to law school out of state, or didn't go to law school at all since in Vermont you can still "read for the law" and take the exam.

A close friend of mine who is a lawyer referred to Massachusetts as "Passachusetts." I think she had a choice to take it here or in New York.
