The Art of Pole

When in doubt, take dick out

I know some of you guys don't care about the pole-dancing skills of strippers and that's fine. But if you're like me and enjoy seeing a girl get on the pole and give the audience a good show, you might appreciate this video. These are not strippers as we know them, they are pole-dancers. They don't get naked (or at least not totally naked, they do go topless while wearing pasties sometimes). It's more like watching a burlesque show mixed with pole-dancing. Personally I'd like to see more dancers with this level of skill at strip clubs but I know that's not their main purpose. Have any of you been to a show like this? The closest I've gotten is those pole competitions they do at Exxxotica conventions. [view link]

Yea it's also cool when there is a resident pole-dancer that teaches the other dancers some pole tricks. I think every club should have at least one pole dance "instructor" to show the new girls some basic moves.

I'm in the camp that a theatrical, or athletical, stage performance, doesn't really do that much for me, in terms of turning-me-on which what I go to the club for. I get more turned-on by her locking eyes with me; squeezing her tits together as if saying come get these; spreading her legs open while full-nude a couple of inches from my face; etc - I get more turned-on by something resembling a porn-scene vs a theatrical or gymnast-style pole-performance. Not saying that I can't enjoy a theatrical/athletic pole-performance; just that it's not what gets my juices (nor my $$$) flowing.

I care about how she takes care of "my pole". Dancing around a metal one on a stage ? I couldn't care less.

I don't get the value of pole class. All you gotta do is just watch some YouTube to learn how to do new tricks. It isn't that hard to watch videos then copy them. Been there done that. Granted I also couldn't care less about the art of the stage 9 out of 10 times.

LOL - nothing wrong with liking different aspects w.r.t. strip-clubs - different people enjoy different things - as long as one is enjoying themselves that's what SCs are for.

I took a couple of pole classes waaaay back when I was just starting out as a dancer. The second class had us practicing the worm [view link] I tried to implement it at work briefly, and the patron nearby had the biggest wtf face. And it felt super awkward to do. Somebody more graceful than me could probably have made it a heck of a lot more sexy, but not me. I noped out taking any more lessons. If I ever try again, I’m going to be a heck of a lot more picky who I sign up with. Especially because a lot of the pole fitness community have taken it upon themselves to declare that they are ~not a stripper~ …though some of the animosity might have lessened in the past few years?

If the club is built for pole dances (high ceilings and space), then I definitely enjoy watching a good pole performance over a bored is-it-over-yet unenthusiastic swaying and booty shake. And, I do find myself feeling a little cheated when I figure out that the club has self-spinning poles. It might not exactly be a turn-on, but it adds to the overall entertainment value. Enthusiasm by the dancer in her stage performance is appreciated regardless of pole tricks.

I appreciate good pole work. One of the best was in Vegas at Spearmint Rhino. It was a Friday or Saturday night (total fucking shit show for dancing though), and a super toned spinner was doing massive power tricks with some danger involved. 80% of the room was locked on her show.....after her set, the girl I was with told me she was Cirque du Soleil dancer and made ALL her money on the stage.....and she made some money!

So with Portland I am confused how like Acropolis is a stage oriented club yet their poles are extremely short lol.

Never liked "pole dancing" at all. I rememvef when this started to be "a thing" in the 1990s. Didn't like it then don't like it now. But I am Gen X, I despise shaved pubic hair too. I hate this entire Millennium...

Was thinking about the last stripper I saw with pubic hair. Was on day shift at Jet Strip in Lennox around 2011 or 12 maybe. It was day shift, so we could chat a bit. She kept trying to se me on moving to Kauai where she was from. I kept mentioning her pubkc hair.

She said that lots if men liked it but she was still under pressure to shave it. That was 2011 I think. An eternity ago.

Of the three DA posts above, Dave only liked his own post two times (at this time). I guess that means he thought he could have done a bit better on the middle one. Or maybe it's because he had a mini stroke while typing 'pubic'.

I think he's just had too much to drink. Go home Dave, you're drunk. How are you even still interested in strip clubs? Like 99.999999% of strippers have shaved snatched these days.

I used to think some of the pole tricks strippers did looked slightly dangerous and wondered why they would do them. However, after talking to a lot of them I've noticed that many of them engage in slightly dangerous hobbies like skydiving, rock climbing, drug experimentation, owning Pit Bulls or hooking up with bad boy thug types. Some people just like the thrill of doing slightly dangerous things.

^I wouldn't say pole dancing is that risky. At least no more than any other physical activity. And lots of women get into pole-dancing as a form of exercise. All the pro pole dancers have lean muscular bodies, their upper body strength is actually very impressive. They have excellent control of their bodies, which makes them ideal sex machines.

Which Jersey clubs are big on pole dancing? Other than Johnny A's Hitching Post all the NJ clubs I saw were like hole in the wall bars and stage shows weren't the focus.

I luv the entertainment. I have seen such great pole work but only really in SF, Portland, and LA clubs - certain clubs consistently. Now not every girl can do this well, and we don’t need them all. But two or three a night can sure mix things up. I was recently in a club in NY and was surprised with one girl’s pole work. So much so, I tipped her double, complimented her, and when her shift was nearly done she pulled me into a lap dance booth with her to show me more of her pole work up close. Fully clothed but sure didn’t feel that way. Girls like this are extremely athletic, which I like. I don’t mean overly muscular - not so fun, but they can move. She was up and down and upside down and sideways all over my body. She moved in ways I haven’t seen for years since time in PDX and SFO clubs. She was stellar. At one point, her thong covered crotch was grinding my chin while she had my pants covered nob somewhere in her lips! She had to have orgasmed twice upside down! That’s why you tip and cheer on girls who work on their pole work

^Yes finally someone who gets it! I also like athletic girls, and pole dancers are almost always ripped. I've only seen a few that did geeat pole work. Years ago, in the Harem in Lodi NJ, there was this spinner who could climb all the way to the top and move in ways that defied gravity. I don't usually shower girls with dollars but if I see someone who puts in that much effort in her routine, I'm gonna make it rain.
