As a 50 pluser, I've gone full circle, starting out hitting the clubs when I was younger, then moving to escorts in my middle age. Now I'm back to the clubs.
Reason? I like the variety in a club, the socializing, and it's usually time spent at a lower $ per hour rate. The window shopping is a beautiful thing. Also, some escorts can be pretty high maintenance in that a guy can fall into the trap of focusing more on performing for her than in getting his just desserts. I've had dates where she's all satisfied and I walk out with a numb tongue and a still stiff johnny. In other words, she should have paid me.
Don't mean to be selfish, but if I'm going to shell out a bunch of Benjamins, I want the encounter to be about me. I know going in it probably won't be a total GFE, but that's okay. I like the interaction just fine either way.

Strip clubs offer the following advantages:
1. spur of the moment decision-making (could be a disadvantage)
2. bartender, staff, parking lot attendants who "look after" you
3. the thrill of the chase -- you start at a low level of intimacy and build upwards, rather than just diving right in
4. the opportunity to sample the merchandise before committing to buying it
5. comparison shopping under the same roof
6. opportunity (if wanted) for more than one encounter in the same location in serial on the same evening
7. opportunity (if wanted) for more than one encounter in the same location in parallel on the same evening
8. reliability, sexiness, and now, even price, are getting to where they match an escort
9. no need to plan far in advance. Want to monger now? Go monger now! Horniness therefore is a factor in choice. (Could be a disadvantage, obviously. But a really weird one -- what's that, you DON'T want to monger because you're afraid you'll use your lust to make decisions for you? What the hell ELSE do you make decisions with, while mongering, other than lust?)
Disadvantages tend to include:
1. price. Escorts are usually cheaper, all things considered.
2. planning. You can't guarantee that so-and-so will be available for you when you want, at a club, but you can with an internet appointment.
3. reliability. Girls on the internet are reviewed and discussed more than girls in a strip club, so you can feel more assured. (I haven't found this to be a problem with dancers. They tend to give exactly what they claim they'll give, in ITC and OTC extras encounters. But you might worry about it anyway.)
4. amenities. You can clean up with a paper towel or a handi-wipe in the back of a musty private room, or take a shower in a nice hotel bathroom. People might watch you, in the strip club back room; etc. Escorts allow you a full array of bedroom and bathroom facilities, with full opportunity to disrobe, while strippers only allow the rapid and direct stimulation of parts of an unclothed body, most of which remains clothed most of the time.
All in all, I'm going to have to say that escorts don't give what I most likely want any better than strippers, and strippers give a lot more of a lot of other things that I want. Escorts are better at escorting; but that's not why I would call a call girl in the first place. Strippers (well, at least, the ones on the program) are generally better at all the other things that I seek.
- The risk of failure\. There's always the chance that you can't connect with the stripper you crave or that the stripper who's with you will leave for some other guy. This gives the club experience an edge of excitement and versimilitude to singles bar type reality.
- Serendipity. Strip clubs are set up to provide surprises and happy accidents. Without that, life is dull dull dull.
Think of it this as a possible strategy - sort of a balancing act, taking advantage of each segment.
Primarily Brazilians in the strip clubs, preferably ATF deals, and for escorts: perhaps asians with maybe multi-hour monthly or bi-monthly sessions with super quality providers that one can develop a true GFE arrangement with (I think Yoda does this) or alternatively (what I am more familiar with) find exceedingly beautiful AMP girls for quick hits. The AMP girl I was with mere hours ago I (just) noticed a TER reviewer (commenting earlier this month) stated "this woman could have been a Korean super-model, or movie star" In fact after experiencing her in person, the reviewer is very close to the mark, so one must always be looking at AMPs too.
Granted, the frequency of action is less predictable at a strip club. But I have never heard of a man having to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life due to activities that happened at a strip club...but that can very well happen as a result of a solicitation conviction.
The thing I most like about a "terma" and the strip club, for extras, is this business about MEETING the woman first. I would say that about 33% of my internet-escort encounters have included trying to interact with a woman with whom I just didn't "click." Either she was nervous and skitting because of the potential of a police sting (I am perhaps too clean-cut looking?), or she was just not very well-spoken or highly educated and my own cultural background meant we couldn't "mesh" well, or something else led to a failure of communication, where she and I were talking at cross-purposes. Sometimes the girl would take this as an occasion to call me out for "being an asshole on purpose" and the like, probably in the hopes she could limit expected levels of service because of my failure to "make her feel comfortable" or something. That kind of bullshit just does not arise in a strip club. If you don't click with the girl, then you simply don't engage her services for money. You move on. You certainly don't have to try to get extras from her. That, for me, is by far the biggest advantage.
A close second, is the opportunity to see and feel her nakedness before engaging further money. I guess the internet almost provides an parallel for the garden variety escort, but she can always hide a few flaws with a carefully photo-shopped picture, whereas in the strip club she has to have whatever *I* want her to have when viewed from ALL angles. And touched. Lots of girls have large breasts, for instance, that look great in a push-up bra, but when I see that they dangle to their knees, or that they are spheroids invented by Dow chemical and bolted on by a team at the Jekyll and Kervorkian clinic, I don't want to touch the uncovered manifestation of them no matter how nice they look when covered up.
Strip clubs: where honesty comes out to play. Better be wary! :)
Over the last 30+ years, I have watched the strip club industry grow. It started with GO GO dancers. Next came topless and then bottomless. Then about 15 years ago I got my first lap dance in Memphis. Then came ITC extras. Then came a period of about 3 years that I was trying to get FS OTC but all I got was stripper shit. In the last two years thing have changed for the better. I have gotten smarter. I don't seek them out. I let them come to me. And the price has been right. The most that I have paid for FS is $150. The least $90 ITC. When I go to my favorite club I don't always score FS OTC. That is my own doing. I am there to have fun and I want to spread that out over 6 or 8 hours.
I have no desire to seek an escort or go to an AMP. Strip clubs are safer and I get to do the picking of who and what. Just call me happy.
I also agree with the sheer number of possibilities, thrill of the hunt, and the surprise and satisfaction when you do get the extras from a gorgeous stripper. I agree that in almost all cases, the stripper will be smoking hot, while the escort will either be older or overweight, unless one spends some big $$ for the young tight ones that provide good service.
I'm still amazed at what can be had inside the club. My first experiences were in Atlanta, which at the time I thought were outstanding. Nothing more than seeing a totally naked hot woman dancing, but it was impressive to an old country boy from North Carolina. It was so long ago, the dancers even had some hair on their pussies! Absolutely no touching but the scenery was great. Now, I wouldn't even go into a club like that..my how far we've progressed!
With that kind of deal, escorts or even AMPs wouldn't have a chance, however not sure how common that kind of deal is. In certain clubs I tend to drop alot of money, probably too much (and would not even qualify for the govt rebate payment even under the Senator Grassly plan) - so I could never imagine tying up a dancer (even an ATF) for that long with them making that small an amount, and that includes less busy times of the week
There are some sound reasons to favor escorts. I actually think LE is more of a concern for me in a SC. Last night I fucked a girl in a LD room with no door and about 60 people in the other room 20 feet away. That strikes me as more of a risk than screwing a girl in a hotel room with a locked door. And AMPs are very high risk for LE; they get busted in my area all the time. I also do not find escorts to be ugly or old. There are hags, but they are easily avoidable if you use one of the review boards. I also think honesty compels me to acknowledge that I can ultimately get a higher level of service with an escort, if I am willing to expend the time and money. Honestly, when was the last time anyone here got greek at a SC?
But having said that, for all the reasons people have cited, there are a lot of positives for SCs, including spontaniety, variety and the socializing. It seems to me there's no reason to choose. If I want to go to a club and play with a lot of girls on the fly I'll do that. If I want to rendevous with one of my favorite whores for a 2 hours session of fucking and sucking, I'll do that. Thankfully we still live in a free country.
All kidding aside. Call me an old fart but I do not want any shit on my dip stick!
CraigsList where the identity issue is generally irrelevant is however probably about 50% to 70% fraud or bait and switch - although now and then someone can get very lucky
With strip clubs and AMPs you can search out the quality level you want, yet not give out any identity.
Now that I've thought about it I really don't want to do anal.
