Heavy Metal

You love heavy metal. Your new OTC lady doesn't but would like to see why you do. You can play her one song and one song only to show why you love heavy metal and she will listen to it with an open mind. Man up; one song only. Mine is easy: Rainbow in the dark - Ronnie James Dio. What is yours?

It’s obvious you’ve consumed way too much heavy metal, from all the lead paint chips you ate when you were a kid. It reflects in the way you post.

^It's obvious that you are the spawn of a monkey and a pig. Hope something tragic happens to a close family member of yours.

    Clutch, "Cyborg Bette": https://youtu.be/j0nSyc1pNWg

    ...or...

    Red Fang, "Prehistoric Dog": https://youtu.be/VufilzHKTqk

And just a bonus recommendation, but give Fu Manchu a whirl: https://www.youtube.com/@fumanchuofficia…

Half God; Half Devil by In This Moment for something modern. I like to ease them into it and I also find using metal bands with female singers seems to help

Really? Ronnie James Dio? It is a requirement to suck homosexual cock if you pick one of his songs as your anthem of heavy metal. Maybe you love to be in “Heaven and Hell” as a homosexual writing on a mostly male strip club review website. Next thing you’ll be telling us how you were buttfucked by Elton John on a ski trip to Vermont with your “wife” watching. This has to be the gayest thread ever composed, but of course no one is surprised. Fact is, we all expect this from SkiDumb.

The Trooper - Iron Maiden. To me, no song personifies what is a heavy metal song quite as well. It's no accident that when the multi-part documentary on metal "Metal:Evolution" was done a few years ago that The Trooper was the song used in the opening credits.

You've Got Another Thing Comin' - Judas Priest also, for basically the same reason as The Trooper. It just epitomizes heavy metal.

You've Got Another Thing Comin' - one my reliable girls danced to this on stage. she used to go to metal shows and do damage in mosh pits. come to a show and wear unassuming clothes from the gap.

bark at the moon would be the one i choose. but if trying to impress her to get down for the real fun stuff then maybe sweet child o'mine or some shit from the def leppard hysteria album.

^ Hysteria is not heavy metal. It's barely hard rock. Pyromania is much closer to metal, and a better album to boot IMO.

Not a huge heavy metal fan but if I had to pick I'd go with "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest. What little heavy metal I have listened to is the more mainstream stuff so I'm sure there are better songs out there that I have never heard but it isn't really my type of music.

    Given the parameters you defined...
Mötley Crüe - Kickstart My Heart

For a song that a girl would enjoy. Try Kickstart my Heart by Motley Crue. Hi energy.

Ace of spades - Motörhead is my personal fav but a lot of strippers can appreciate Girls Girls Girls and other Crue classics

Metallica- Disposable Heroes, W.A.S.P- The Heretic (The Lost Child), Quiet Riot- Metal Health, all of which need to be played very loud or it won't quite work.

So many to choose from but my initial thoughts are Back in Black or Whole Lotta Rosie by AC/DC. I had the pleasure of seeing the original line-up do the latter.

I think this thread went off the rails a bit. The question wasn't the greatest heavy metal song, it was what would sway an OTC girl to appreciate the genre.

I started typing a comment a few hours ago - and didn’t post it - as I am struggling to use a single song to represent the entire genre of metal.

Black Sabbath - Iron Man was the first song that came to mind. However, metal has gone through so many changes since that time. But, that is still one of those songs that still sounds like good metal today.

I don’t think you’ll make much headway with all these 40-50 year old suggestions, and this is coming from an old guy that lived through the 70s. There could be a debate about the definition of heavy metal, but I think you’ll have better success with a modern “heavy” band, and Halestorm fits the bill. Lizzie is an amazing vocalist and her band blows the roof off. I recommend I Like it Heavy, or Do Not Disturb. Maybe not heavy metal, but definitely very hard rock. They also kick ass live.

Some Def Leppard I think has a lot of mass appeal, is that heavy metal techinically? hair metal? glam metal? I don't know. Hysteria, Love Bites, Animal, Bringing on the heartbreak, they got so many hits.

I played Godsmack "Whatever" for an ugly girl that was hitting on me in a bar. Mostly because it has the line "just fucking go away".

    Just one?

I gotta go with "You Can't Bring Me Down" by Suicidal Tendencies. Because Rocky George just shreds throughout the whole song.

Having given it a bit of thought, I cannot come up with a better suggestion than AC/DC Thunderstruck. It's a little mainstream, but more accessible than Metallica and not as dated as Black Sabbath. Jethro Tull is not heavy metal. There are nt flutes in heavy metal.

I considered Def Leppard, like Muddy suggested. I like Def Leppard, Hysteria was the first

... album I ever had, but glam metal should not be mistaken for Heavy Metal.
