R.I.P., Taylor Hawkins

Holy shit, where did that come from?!? He was only 50.

You know the Foo Fighters songs, but here are a couple links from a show they played at Wembley Stadium a few years ago. John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page came out for a couple songs, Taylor on vocals for "Rock and Roll", and drumming for "Ramble On." Had to be a dream come true.

Just saw that on the news (which I rarely watch at all, but just happened to watch a few minutes of it tonight).

They had performed in Argentina on Sunday and had a concert scheduled in Columbia tonight.

    RIP

He had an incredible Rock and Roll career. I think and hope he got a lot of living in during his 50 years - probably more than most people would have in several lifetimes.

I just saw the news this morning. It truly sucks. I like the Foos, he was a good drummer, and seemed like a legit cool guy. I absolutely loved when he and Dave Grohl inducted Rush (my favorite band) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You could see how obviously thrilled he was. This is a sad way to start the weekend.

Always smiling and so energetic. Taylor was a magnetic presence with the Foos and was one hell of a drummer.

Ten substances were found in his system including heroin.

He previously had OD’d on heroin and spent 2 weeks in coma. Addiction issues can be a bitch

    Desertscrub.

He was a drug addict who did more in a day that you will do in your useless lifetime.

    Go back to scrubbing toilets.

I agree with telling it like it is on the drugs. If you have anything to live for, get off the drugs. A 50 year man with a family shouldn’t be doing drugs like some stupid kid.
I’m glad Columbia was quickly up front about the toxicology report. Depending on the celeb, the celeb’s publicist and the US media would have conspired to suppress that info.

Btw - Fentanyl could be in any drug now including cocaine. It’s like playing Russian roulette.

Perhaps it's possible that drugs being involved and it also being a tragic loss are not mutually exclusive?

i read some reports that friends said he's been clean for quite some time now - over at least 10 years. so then while in colombia all of a sudden relapse leading to death?

Oh goodness, I thought I had replied to this thread. First Betty White and now this, sad.

I've only heard of the name of the band but have never listened to their music - sad when a person goes at a young-age especially someone that had the means to have a good life

That’s an important point made by crosscheck.

This is a tragic loss even though drugs were the cause of his passing.

    Just another Covid vax "coincidence."

Foo Fighters just happened to be some of the most zealous proponents of forced Covid "vaccines" but its all a another giant coincidence. Nothing to see here folks, move along.

^ Sure. A 50-year-old rocker with a history of drug use dies in a hotel room with liquor bottles and cocaine strewn around, and his blood is a sloshing cocktail of 10 different drugs. But you know what *really* killed him?... COVID vaccine.
