Yeah, it happens. McConnell blocked Dems ability to override congress’ votes, so we’re in a stalemate. Market could take a hit mid October if they don’t do a workaround, but generally markets are fine in past shutdowns do we will see.
These bitches running our government both Dems and Repubs are scum, they want to force a shutdown, because they know they'll continue to get their paychecks, and I'm sure more than a few want to force stock prices down to allow them to buy at fire sale rates. Not sure if they wil shut it down this time but what I stated above is their motive.
Who cares? Me and my SO went around the barriers on our bikes and into a National Park during the last shutdown. No park rangers were around to stop us. We had a great time and practically had the place to ourselves.
My guess is it will end up as a partial shutdown like what happened a few years ago. Some parts that are non essential like parks and museums will get closed for a little while and they will pass a limited budget to keep more traditional aspects of the government like the Social Security and IRS offices running.
