Holy shit. This came out of nowhere. 61 years old, secretly dealt with cancer for nine years. R.I.P. to one of the all-time greats. Norm MacDonald was absolutely hysterical.
Weird - I thought of Norm pretty randomly this morning, before I heard he died, when I went to CVS and got one of their extra long receipts.
Thought of a typically silly joke I heard him tell:
“If you don’t like those long CVS receipts, you’re gonna hate books!”
Wow - didn't see that one coming - I had not heard about it till this thread - my first thought was the maybe hard-living had caught w/ him but a previous post mentioned cancer.
He was def controversial and seemed it affected his career fairly-significantly b/c he seemed unwilling to compromise w/ the corporate-powers-to-be - but yeah; he def was a unique-talent and uniquely-funny and I agree he was a great SNL anchorman w/ his special straight-faced delivery no-matter how outrageous/potentially-offensive the statement he was making.
Goddamn he was good. I've been down the you tube rabbit hole for hours. The jokes, the delivery, the bravery to go after anyone. First time I've been bummed about a celeb death since Robin Williams.
RIP Norm. This hit me out of left field - like most of us.
He was hilarious - and his humor hit me as especially funny.
When I heard of his passing - I searched for one of his bits from the Bob Saget roast. He bombed - and it kept getting worse - and he stuck with it - and it’s got more and more hilarious.
I just watched Dirty Work again in his honor. Norm's the best but on another note that Traylor Howard girl from the movie. She is an all time hottie damn.

He was a guy who was never afraid to tell a joke no matter who it offended.

norm was great and actually real underrated.
He was pretty funny but underused on the Orville as well.

"...which just goes to show you, Madonna's a whore", said with a straight face, made me choke on my whiskey.
