Favorite strip club song

Sunday, August 22, 2021 3:01 AM
What's your favorite song in a strip club, whether in the background for girls on-stage, or while getting your lap dance groove on? Or which song hasn't happened yet for you, but in strip club heaven it'd be in heavy rotation?

Or ladies (hey...sup?), specific songs you like to have while you perform on the pole, or while navigating a "pole"?

I am absolutely not a fan of Rush, but I would be pretty stoked to say "sure, let's go to VIP", and then the first song is Rush "2112". 20+ minute song? Thank you, DJ!

Pearl Jam is my favorite, but I don't really thing they've got a whole hell of a lot that would translate well to that environment / situation. They don't seem to happen often enough anymore, but I absolutely loved Deftones "Change" - at night, with that song, and the dim lighting, seems like the girls always just totally commanded the stage...so hot...something about its slow / heavy combo. Also liked Alice in Chains "Man in the Box", and anything from Nine Inch Nails is a good choice, though "Closer" seems too obvious.

And if I ever had a girl on my lap and the song changed to Too Short "Cocktales" I'd probably lose wood from laughing so hard.

Based on the demographic here, I fully expect some replies naming Billie Holiday, Buddy Holly & the Crickets, and Glen Miller... Although...Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing" might actually work pretty well now that I think about it...

An idea a strip club could use is to have genre type of songs during the day shift. I think for the older guys who enjoy some classic rock from the 60’s and 70’s during noon - 2:00 would be fun, and maybe from 2:00-3:00 play classic country and western with Waylon/Willie and the boys. Just a thought, and I’m sure with today’s technology a DJ should ha e access to the music at his fingertips, depending on what type of system the club has set up.

Play your classic hip hop when the amateur hour starts, I won’t be there. There some good old school rap from the 90’s and early 2000s that I’ve rocked out to during the day. I just don’t hear it as much anymore. Any music that can bring nostalgia back for the PL will get them in a party mood, and sometimes the music is catered more for the dancer. Dancers could learn some classic music history and how to enjoy good instrumentals, voice, and lyrics. Today’s music is too electronic and homogenized. I’d say it sucks, but there is a lot of good music made today, except it has also been diluted.

If I get to the club real early, the best music is what the DJ plays before the dancing starts. Usually 70's and 80's classic rock.

Once the dancing starts, my favorite is a commentary on everyone at the club.

I really hate most music in clubs., I just wish there was more variety. I’ve commented to dancers that it seems you hear the same 20-25 songs over and over, and they agree. If I hear “Kiki do you love me” or “I Can’t Feel My Face When I’m With You” one more time I’m going to puke. The problem is that there is a ton of great music out there, old and new, if DJs would take some time and find it. I will often hear a new blues or R&B song and think it would be so great to see a dancer on stage really work that song on the pole, but it seldom happens. One of my most fun things about OTC is putting together a soundtrack for those encounters. Granted, that playlist is more about what I like than she does, but it definitely enhances the experience. I wish clubs had the same goal.

I usually don't even notice the song that's playing unless it's one I already know. I'd assume girls would get more into it if it was a song they liked vs one that was random or chosen based the customer demographic at the time.

    Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing”

As much as I love Neil Peart, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Ginger Baker and Charlie Watt - I would put Gene Krupa right up there with them

On the rare occasion that the DJ at Bourbon plays something from SRV or even Hendrix, I always tell the dancer I’m with that the song being played is older than they are.

Top 3 based on the experience that was happening at the same time. Wicked Game - Chris Isaacs, Love Song - 311 and Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh

Its certainly not Susidio by Phil Collins but I have heard it in a club before! I think it was during a table dance only song or maybe even before many dancers had arrived/things hadnt really gotten started. There was no dancer on stage, but still-it was played in a strip club!

I want to do a VIP with a one legged stripper while Cum on Eileen is playing! (by Dexies midnight runners).

It’s a fantasy, but it would be great!

Several years back i was at a club during a retro 80’s night. I was in the VIP area and could barely hear the music. The DJ played “Come in Eileen” and I mentioned to the dancer that’s one of my favorite old 80’s songs. She had never heard of it. So I pulled out my phone and showed her the video. It wasn’t her genre I guess. But I think Eileen is pretty damn cute.

I’m not a stage person and not picky. I notice a lot of times DJs like to ask what type of music you want but then end up playing whatever they want anyways. So I give noncommittal answers and leave it up to their own imagination.

Saw this meme once and that definitely resonated with me, lol During the times there was no DJ and have to actually select songs on a jukebox.

HA! I think that meme reaction might be pretty much right on, if all of a sudden a girl came out to Get Up Kids or Sunny Day Real Estate. Although...The Used might work fairly well.

There was a girl at The Club in MA who danced to a cover of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good". She also liked other songs of the genre. Awesome. Absolutely hate the promo music at Boardroom Cabaret: Pretty Woman, Blue Bayou, etc. I heard another club use Billy Idol's White Wedding for promo music -- great choice.
