It’s high time we junk the two party system

Nothing good can happen when you shove a cop and try to escape while being arrested for outstanding "gross misdemeanor" warrants. The bad can range from additional charges all the way to an idiot cop not being able to tell the difference between a 6 ounce taser in her left hand and a 2.5 lb pistol in her right hand and shooting you in the chest.

That all said, DON'T PUT YOURSELF IN THE POSITION TO BE KILLED. Zero chance of being "accidentally" shot if he does not resist and try to escape. Same with Floyd. Same with the guy at the drive thru in Atlanta.

I'm sure there were 100 other instances of some fool resisting arrest and trying to escape that day where they were not killed. One is too many, but don't put cops under stress where they might do something wrong or overreact.

To balance out my other post, I don’t mean be forever a nihilist. Just that if one considers themselves a libertarian, this is not the time to base ones happiness on how easy it is to live in a society that enables that.

The federal government should immediately arrest the police officer and charge him with homicide because it appears like the local and state governments are not going to do that.

There seems to be a commonality to most of these recent stories. Attempted arrest (usually with an outstanding warrant), struggle in an attempt to get away, and then tragedy. You would think if you lived in fear of the police, you wouldn't struggle or run from the people with the guns. I am afraid of police to a certain extent. I have known some that were complete assholes. I wouldn't resist arrest and not expect a poor outcome for me.

Ummm...aren't Libertarians all about personal responsibility and independence. Freedom of choice without the government telling people what to do? Basically the main function of the government is organized national defense.

being an independent for all of my 79 years, I took the time to read the Libertarian Party's agenda. They seem to have the answer to everything but the solution to nothing.

The Democrat Party has a deep understanding and a burning hatred of the United States of America, and has carefully crafted a plan to destroy it.

The Libertarian party has no understanding of the Constitution, no understanding of the freemarket

Free market economy, nonunderstanding of global diplomacy, and will destroy the United States in their zealous ineptitude.

Look I am no advocate of the Libertarian approach but it seems like damn near opposite of the Democrats. Its just weird they are entering a conversation where the two are somehow connected (even if your generous hate includes them both Gammanu95).

I do agree in a contemporary sense they are a disjointed mess of ideas. But total economic freedom seems anathema to liberal views.

The "Lol"bertatian Party's time came and went years ago. The Trump movement is the limited government movement now albeit within reasonable limits. For example, the lolbertarians want unlimited immigration and "free" trade. That is just stupid.

It is not apt to describe such a socially liberal group as Libertarians as right-wing. They have more in common with Antifa than they do with your average Conservative. They want to eliminate national and state borders, eliminate policing and regulation, gender-free bathrooms/locker rooms/ intramural sports, barter-based economy, and more. They are as delusional as any liberal; although their delusion is based in ignorance, rather than anti-American indoctrination.

So now more truth is coming out about the victim in this shooting.

He was about to have $100,000 bail revoked for an armed robbery case involving a gun. He was not reporting to his probation officer and was found to be in possession of an illegal handgun. When they found him in possession of a firearm, he resisted arrest, got in his car and fled from police (sound familiar?). There was a warrant to appear for bail revocation, but he failed to appear. So he had a warrant for parole/bail violation, for the resisting arrest and fleeing, and for failure to appear. That means he was already a fugitive when they tried to arrest him Sunday.
