In pre-fascist America convention was to have a wall of separation between DOJ and the White House. Then AG Merrick Garland was a milquetoast toady who was more concerned about with convention than prosecution. He's a terrible prosecutor who let Trump off the hook for the insurrection he organized and his attempt to overturn our democratic elections.

But the key reason Trump hasn't been prosecuted yet is likely much simpler: the victim didn't want to press charges because she, quite reasonably, feared for her life and well being.

Of course, Trump could clear all this up by just releasing the files, like he promised he would numerous times on the campaign trail. Instead, Bondi told him that he was in them, and they decided to bury them instead. 🤷‍♂️ Even some of the president's most ardent supporters are incredulous right now.

Cognitive dissonance is going to prevent any of his supporters from acknowledging they put a pedo in the white house. I mean, if you campaigned and voted for a pedo and thought of him as a savior, would you want to admit to it? The only recourse we have given he's president is impeachment, and good luck finding 13 GOP senators willing to remove. Republican politicians who have broken with Trump do not fare well. Why has Trump suddenly proclaimed (again) Obama was involved in a scheme to discredit him and call for a DOJ investigation? We all know, even the hardcore MAGA supporters, that Trump lies all the time. If there is nothing incriminating in the files why weren't they released on day one? It's always the hit dog that hollers. Intelligent people aren't falling for the distractions.
