I would say it is the clientele that's the biggest factor. I've worked in a nice looking club or 2 or 4 that guys just dont come in with any intention of spending. Or the club doesnt put any pressure on guys to spend. To some extent it can also be the girls. I mean generally to get occasional highroller money without sucking dick/getting fingered a girl has to meet some sort of appearance standards. But mostly it is clientele imo. And yeah location definitely has the biggest impact on type of clientele coming in.
Some of these "nicer" clubs are pretty ducking rundown if you see them in normal lighting or they have areas or things that are rundown as fuck but maybe not immediately noticeable to drunk/high customers.
It’s a club that doesn’t think much of itself populated by girls that don’t think to much of themselves. Usually this results in a clientele of PLs that is willing to put up with either or both these situations in order to get much higher mileage or much lower prices or both at the same time.
If it’s near the beach it might be a dive bar, if there’s a swim up counter might be a dive bar, if you need a wetsuit to enter it definitely is a dive bar.
Shitty neighborhood
Skanky clientele
Mullets
Unkept looking clientele and staff
Bathrooms unclean
Smoky rooms with poor ventilation
Old chipped tables and chairs
Usually not even a tap at the bar, just bottles and no top shelf liquor.
Girls can be anything from 1 to 10 with or without teeth.
Rule of thumb: If you take your shirt off to sit on because you don't want your bare ass touching that couch while a naked girl that would be a solid 7 if she would just spend a month at the dentist tries her best to get you off in 9 minutes or less; you're in a dive club.
Girls then clientele. I dance at a dive and the girls are mainly 5-7s, 99% AA because they hire anyone and everyone. I have never seen anyone turned away except for theft or prostitution charges. The customers can handle looking at the girls and don’t expect cute faces , just fat asses. Not many suits wander in.
In a real shit hole dive, you can see that the girls don't really work there for the money because it is not that good, rather they work there so they can line up guys for OTC. And sometimes this could actually be the parking lot or some place else on the premises.
I worked at a small neighborhood club where music was selected by a jukebox. But the club had furniture that wasn’t beaten up and the girls were a variety. Some were really hot and could easily get into upscale clubs if they wanted to. Clientele was mostly locals of construction biz and white collar variety. No thug factor.
^So I classify it as a dive.
I guess a dive is a club that also slides past a “dancer choice” radar. For example, there’s one club in San Antonio that probably should be classified as a dive. It needs a serious reupholstering. But it’s a club girls flock to because it’s easier to make money there than the other clubs without extras. But on the other hand, there are out-of-towners that balance out the locals over there. There is a slight thug factor with a few customers when compared to other cities but by San Anton standards, it’s thug free.
^ So I classify it mid tier.
@OG nicespice LOL I consider Sunset an "upscale" dive. It breaks my aforementioned criteria in that stripper quality is above average and it's not that moldy. And on a busy night it transforms into a true strip club.

LOL there's an Xpose not too far from Sunset. https://tuscl.net/listing.php?id=3920 My bad. I forgot how it was spelled and assumed you might have been there.
@heaving understood. And I would love to club in Austin. But note that I just want to go on a field trip to see OG nicespice 🦄😍 and those buxom Texas blondes.
And if you ever come to Portland I'll take you on a tour of our best dive clubs. To me, the dives out here are great and unique in that you can often (but not always) find a hottie (or a few) in one that doesn't seem to belong there because she could be at a more upscale club.
Sign a club is at the at least middle point of a dive:
*when you call a club and ask when you can audition tonight and they tell you “anytime”
* You show up around 10:30-11pm and somebody asks “do you look good naked” saying yes is all that’s needed
*the DJ takes your drivers license—and only license. No sign that it got scanned or anything.
*get dressed and immediately get on stage. Work for a little bit and somebody walks up to you on stage to ask for a $40 house fee
*at the end of the night, remember to grab your ID from the DJ booth. Ask if you have paperwork to fill out. Cause, um, every freaking club does. Plus a girl in the dressing room mentioned never signing off on paperwork and being confused when her house fee chances at random times, despite showing up around the same time of day.
*You’re told to come in the next day to sign the paperwork.
*Technically the club closes at two, but they started closing at ~1:30 and telling customers to leave and dancers to go in the dressing room.
😂😂😂 This club really doesn’t give a fuck about anything.
“Have you worked any other clubs?”
Me: -I mention the mid to upper mid-tier club I worked at-
“Oh, so why did you get fired from there?”
Me: Some customer told me that the daytime is busier here than most places.
“Ah. Okay. Well here is the dressing room”
To me a dive is Pleasant Moments in Bridgeport. It is a dive because it is in a economically devastated city with high crime rates. It is in one of the worst neighborhhods in said city. I take my wife's impreza and not my wrx so if it gets stolen or vandalized it means less. You goive a crackhead $5.00 to watch your car before entering. You get pat frisked at the door. The dancers look rough, despite a few hotties. The customers look rough and you never expect to see them skiing or on the golf course. You dress differently than in 99.999% of the rest of your life so you fit in. A bj, including room fee is $60.00.
@heaving I’d agree. Love the sense of humor here. I’ve heard a lot of dive clubs can get super pretentious and bitchy from dancers and staff alike—worse than upscale clubs. But I can happily say so far it seems like this place isn’t one of them. 😁

The neighborhood lends itself to dives - low rent - sketchy - and rough.
The clientele isn’t comprised of suits. It’s usually a pump and dump club - and the customers know it.
The interior of most clubs would look miserable in the harsh light of day, so that might not be definitive.
The dancers can be rough on the eyes - but that’s not a requirement. There are many beautiful dancers working in true dives.
I think this quote is overused, but it seems appropriate - it’s difficult to define, but I know a dive club when I see one.

Hmm 🤔
- Low number of dancers. Less than 10.
- No cover charge.
- On average there are as many patrons and regulars that are NOT participating in strip clubbing as there are actually participating.
- Remove the stage and the strippers and it's nothing but a dive bar.
- It's not part of a chain or corporate type ownership.
- Stripper quality is all over the map and typically below average.
- Minimal hustle.
- It smells moldy.

So all you have to do is find that there is one you actually like and just let things happen in a totally civilian way + respect money.
