I've seen these objects in kitchens, the Sears catalog from 1997 that is the jewel of my Sears catalog collection, and in the local Walmart. What exactly are they? Useful? Like them?

It's like an oven on your counter top. I used mine for hot pockets and little pizzas or to warm up left over fried chicken.
Not sure where this troll account is headed but I'll go ahead and smash that like button anyway!
Weren't they replaced by microwaves years ago ?
I think you're supposed to use it to warm your bath water.
Thank you gentlemen. So, I can use a toaster oven for warming my bath water, making buttloads of breakfast burritos, and heating up hot pockets. I'm sold. I'll go warm up my classic van and run to the store to buy one.
But first, I need to Google this object called a microwave!
Topic actually made me laugh.
A while back SO came home from the casino with a free toaster oven. The fucker sat taking up counter space never once used still had the shipping tape. On it's one year arrival anniversary I took it to the garage hit it once with a framing hammer, shook the glass out, put the tape back on.
It sat on the counter for several weeks before I throw it out. Not once did SO even mentioned it. One day I'll come crossed an inexpensive one then back on the counter it goes
SanJoseWoman, do you have a bun in your toaster oven?
Toaster ovens are great for single guys living on their own. You don’t need to preheat them like larger ovens. They work very well to reheat left overs. Sometimes things get a bit different when reheated in a microwave - and toaster ovens bypass that.
Lol. I heard they are great for heating up chloroform.
It is where I store my toaster.
Good for making a lot of toast and/or things that don't fit in a traditional toaster. Good for reheating as things don't get soggy like the microwave. My toaster is in the landfill.
I use it to wake and bake
And I use it to warm up my dinner of 💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
I have one at work I use. We don't have a regular oven at work. Frozen pizzas and sometimes hot pockets
Toaster ovens are a Republican conspiracy to use more electricity to force more blackouts in California.
For those of us who actually care about the environment and saving energy we use a toaster oven for cooking small meals, instead of heating up the traditional oven.
