SC Cities vs NBA Playoff Results- Any Correlation.

minnow
Any place that interests me.
OK, here goes my unscientific predictions for 1st round NBA Playoffs, based solely on subjective strength of city stripclubs: East// 1) Detroit vs Orlando- Flight Club, etal, and Windsor Clubs vs pastie airshows & OBT tourist traps??? No contest, Pistons in 4. 2) Cleveland vs Washington - Tiffanys type places coupled with evilcyns club vs a few no touchee clubs?? Not a chance- Cavs in 4. 3) Toronto vs NJ- Toronto clubs, nude w. alcohol vs "shaker bars", should be no contest. However, with the Playhouse in NJ (though far from Nets arena), NJ won't roll over easily. Still, Raptors in 6. 4) Miami vs Chicago- Plethora of nude alcohol clubs in S. FL vs small no. of puritanical clubs would seem like a Miami blowout. Yet with a club like the Admiral Theater, and kinda Chicago indigenous Industrial Strip- not so fast: Heat in 5. // WEST 1) Dallas vs Golden State- OK, we all know about MBOT. Dallas has only a few token nude clubs. BUT, they have a high T40 club in Baby Dolls, and many high end clubs with a depth of hotties. Although not SF strong, Dallas mileage has been getting better recently. At a quick glance, MBOT sounds appealing, but this is playoff time. Blowing your wad in 15 minutes isn't as much fun in the long haul as consistently good 2 hr visits. Dallas has the long haul stuff for the quick shot MBOT and showy gimmicky Deja Vu clubs. Mavs in 6 2) Phoenix vs LA- Both have T40 clubs, however, LA's is far from Staples center. The ones that are close by can be high mileage, but also very expensive chain clubs that sometimes play the dance miscount games. Phoenix babes can be just as hot, over the long haul, consistency wins over. Suns in 7 3) San Antonio vs Denver- Both cities have some fine looking babes, but on my last trip into Denver many yrs back, the airshow in the clubs was rivaled only by the Thunderbirds Col Springs airshow. Spurs in 6 Utah vs Houston- Treasures & Texas style couchdances should make for a clean sweep. However, 1 American Bush dancer several yrs ago would have made lowpaw drool, and never discount the Mormon otc factor. Still, Rockets in 5.// Pls feel free to provide your opinions/insights on applicable cities clubs that might yield different predictions.

Umm ... which sport is this? :)

I really laughed at the "Mormon OTC factor" -- by which I'm sure you mean, polygamous lap dancing? :P

I know I know, modern members of the church of latter day saints aren't allowed to be polygamous, I know ...

I know it's a different sport, but perhaps this is the explanation for why the Cubs haven't won the World Series in forever.

I was always amazed at how gifted the Boston fans were at whining about the World Series. Up 'til a little while ago, the Boston Red Sox had waited a long time; and the Chicago Cubs had waited longer. But if you heard the Boston fans tell it, Boston was the city with the longest painful period of suffering. I was stunned that FACTS and REALITY didn't matter to them when they stated how miserable they thought they deserved to be. They're just better a whining.

Now that the Red Sox have a recent win, maybe they'll shut the fuck up and let the REAL lovable losers spend some time in the whinelight.

Is the NBA still playing? I thought that ended a couple months ago. Next you'll be telling me that hockey is still going on too. Don't these winter sports know when to quit?

I guess we'll have to rethink the adage "Defense Wins Championships". Maybe this line of thought will eventually result team owners harassing city officials for tax increases to subsidize new, improved strip clubs. Hmmm, that might actually get my typically apathetic ass to the polls!
minnow, you got Detroit sweeping Orlando right. 1-for-1!
minnow, totally wiffed on Miami beating Chicago. 1-for-2!
minnow, great call on Cleveland dominating Washington. 2-for-3!
minnow, San Antonio in 5, Phoenix in 5. Half-points. 3-for-5!
Sorry I'm late, got back from ESL!

minnow, you got the number of games right but the teams wrong with New Jersey and Golden State. And sadly, Houston and Utah went the distance. 3-for-8! (Which is better than Dirk Nowitzki's FG% in his playoff series.)

So far, there seems to be no correlation between quality of a city's strip club and its NBA team. Care to predict the second round?

syg(2): Hope you had good ESL trip. OK, here goes round 2. I was hoping to generate some comments from SC patrons about my rationale for relative SC strength between 2 cities. I'm basing these predictions SOLELY upon my perceptions on relative strength of individual cities stripclubs. I have experience in all cities except Cleveland & NJ, for those I peruse Tuscl. So, here goes ROUND 2// 1) Detroit vs Chicago- Flight Club, etal, and Windsor clubs vs virtually nothing should scream for a sweep, but having IS in nearby Hammond should offset the walkover: Pistons in 5. 2) Cleveland vs NJ- Good mix of high end clubs and neighborhood type bars vs mostly run of mill gogos give edge to -- Cavs in 6. 3) Golden State vs Utah: Having MBOT should practically scream for a sweep. Upon closer examination, SF area has piss poor per capita club ratio, essentially MBOT, Deja Vu, and 1 or 2 indies for 6th largest city/metro area? Lets not forget "Mormon OTC factor". Golden State in 6. 4) Phoenix vs San Antonio- Both cities topless clubs manage to exude a party atmosphere with plenty of hot babes. However, San Antonio lacks a nude venue, doesn't have any T40 clubs, or as many clubs as Phoenix. Suns in 6. Comments/experiences in applicable cities clubs??

Haha, this thread cracks me up.

I'd re-title it, "Hooker Cities re: World Cup Playoffs." Is it any wonder that Brazil always does so well in soccer's international competitions? Look at their women at the "saunas" and "termas" at Copa Cabana, relative to, say, the women in Turkey or the USA. (Well, come to think of it, England and Germany do well in the World Cup ... maybe my theory is flawed.)
Oops! A little late in coming...

minnow, clag off the iron with Golden State, and Detroit denied you a half-point by failing to clinch at home in Game 5. Half-point for that series. 3.5-for-10!
minnow, nothing but net for Cleveland, and it would've been another swish if you had San Antonio in 6 instead. (Maybe we can blame David Stern for this one.) 4.5-for-12!

Final Four -- lay it on us, slick!

syg(2); I might as well pm you on this, due to overwhelming response to thread- here goes anyway// EAST- Detroit vs Cleveland: OK, Detroit has 27 clubs, and several suburb clubs, Cleveland has 23 clubs, and several suburb clubs. Both cities have balance of high end topless GC's and nude clubs. But, Detroit has #1 Flight Club, plus nearby Windsor clubs. Nearby ToledoOH(2 T40 clubs) is a lot closer to DTW than CLE. Pistons in 6// WEST- San Antonio vs Utah; SA has 14 clubs, 1 of which is rated above 7, 3 below 5, SLC has 9 clubs, 2 of which are rated above 7, 1 below 5. While this seems evenly matched, closer review shows SLC is mostly bikini/pasties. Furthermore, AustinTX is closer to SA, than WendoverUT is to SLC and has far more& better clubs than later. Spurs in 6!
minnow, oh so close with San Antonio. 5-for-13!
minnow, I don't blame you for taking the losing team. 5-for-14!

Finals?

syg(2)- This is a tough one-I haven't been to SA clubs since late 90's, haven't been to any Cleveland clbs--yet. Clevelands Cuyahoga County(1.3M), and San Antonios Bexar County(1.4M) populations are roughly evenly matched, yet Cleveland has 57% more clubs(22 vs 14) than SA. My recollections of SA clubs are positive ones, yet Cleveland has 2 significant clubs rated higher than 7, SA just 1. SA doesn't have any nude clubs, CLE has a few, including a highly rated 1. For SA's credit, their outlying clubs are more highly rated(3- 7ups) vs CLE(1 7Up). However, gotta give nod to central areas higher per capita clubs, selection diversity, and ratings. CAVS in 7.
minnow, ooh! Total wiff on the finals. 5-for-15! (I think that's just about what LeBron shot for the series.)

Any final thoughts?

syg2- I can infer several things- 1) Theres little relationship between hot stripclubs & hot teams 2) This thread didn't generate the discussion that I hoped it would- eg,posters opinion that one city has better clubs than another, with supporting "evidence". Maybe I'll do NFL playoffs thread if I'm too bored.
