How did Retirement affect your SCing?

gSteph
The view from the other side of the room
For those of you who have passed that milestone, especially curious regarding married clubbers.

My wife and I will join the retired population during the 1st half of 2020. Obviously, much will change in our life. How'd your passage go? For those not there, but looking forward, do you think much will change? Thoughts?

Not much has changed for me.... I'm 50 though so not really retired but I work 4 days a week 9 to 4 usually, sometimes more sometimes less. so probably semi retired.

I'm retired but single. Being retired means I can hit the clubs any time on any day of the week. However, the biggest change for me is that I can do a lot of international travel and enjoy foreign delights like FKK clubs.

As a non single clubber, it’s a bitch. When I was working , it was always easy to slip away for a couple of hours. Now, it is much harder. Forget any otc action .

Some retired guys have nice pensions where they won't have to worry as much financially since their income may not reduce by too-much (if any) - problem is when one retires and has to rely on their savings and make their savings last for who knows how long thus makes it harder to splurge in SCs (for many of us I imagine)

A nice pension kinda takes the guesswork out of it and one kinda has a guaranteed paycheck for life w/o having to use one's savings

I'm 54 and not planning on working as long as my health allows. Not because I'll need the money; fortunately, I'll be secure financially in my 60s. But I live alone, have no SO and have no interest in getting one, and I get stir crazy with too much time on my hands when I'm home and not working.
The continued source of income also will give me more money for pussy. I plan on mongering more when I have access to some of my retirement funds when I turned 59 1/2, though I'm a little unclear on the rules of whether you can tap them while still working. I'll figure it out between pussy-eating sessions.

^^That should read, "I am planning on working as long as my health allows," to at least 67, maybe past 70.

I'm retired (10years) but single. Not rich but comfortable. I can pretty much go to the clubs as often as I wish but generally go twice a week. I have not done a lot of OTC in the last few years because I am pretty fussy but that is about to change. I've found the right girl.

JAprufrock.... you can access retirement plans while still working usually.... If all the money is in a 401k where you still work you would be subject to their rules but even then most allow for in service withdrawals particularly after 60 year old. You Roth or Traditional IRA is no problem withdrawing while working.

@Papi.... a pension is a great thing, the only concern I would have is the health of the company and the pension plan. Delta cut their pension dramatically as did General Motors. Many times they are backed by the PBGC (Pension Benefit Guarantee Company) if the plan does poorly and is taken over by PBGC expect a 60-80% cut in benefits. It can get ugly. So it is important to have some savings on your own outside of the Defined benefit plan

    g,

Since I am the only one here that meets your requirements, retired Clubber, I'll tell you. It pretty much ended my clubbing.

It wasn't anything other than my reason for retirement. Dealing with my SO and her health issues.

Not yet retired but close. Like anthonys post above, my main worry is that my opportunities to slip away from my SO to visit a SC will be limited.

i'm 69 and been fully retired two years now. after seperation and divorce (35years) i had wiped out my savings five years ago with krazy las vegas clubbing and bad investments. my ex takes litterally all my pension (court ordered) leaving me only the social security and remaining assetts to live on. i had to really cut back my clubbing... time to find another job i guess.

I honestly don't know how retirement will affect me. I am 8 years away from full retirement. No SO to be concerned with. Between savings, 401k, and ongoing income streams, I won't need SS for living expenses. In theory, Uncle Sam is going to be giving me $2700 a month just to play with.

On the other hand, I only club when I travel. I never monger locally. Am I going to be motivated to continue to fly around the country just to club? Currently, the only part of my job I am sick of is airports and hotels. I may transition to 2 - 3 week vacations a couple of times per year and check out Germany, Netherlands, Thailand, Philippines, etc. once I have more free time.

I’m 65 and even though I’m not completely retired I’m not really worried about it, I’ve not been much of a nighttime club visitor for a long time now, and Medicare has added a thousand a month to my discretionary spending money as I no longer have to spend over $1100. A month in insurance, not planning to claim my SS till I’m 70, as I have plenty of income and my expenses are low. I think the only thing that might change is determined by my continuing to enjoy good health.

I am retired and my very young wife is under employed. I get 2 retirement checks from 2 very sound places (one government, one big industry). I do still work in agriculture for my wife’s uncle and my wife works for him too but with out much salary for her. (She does not do much). We do get to travel a lot.

My wife seems to overspend her allowance so I don’t get to go to the clubs much. But I do have my own source of OTC. And she travels with me. lol

It depends how your employer has created the 401k plan, whether they will allow you to withdraw funds at age 59 and 1/2 and still working. You certainly can try to get your employer to tell you and have them update their plan to allow it before the time comes. The only reason your employer would not allow it is if they are a small plan and want to keep assets in it as long as possible for favorable pricing measures.

Otherwise any prudent investor should have funds Invested in a ROtH IRA or traditional, due to its flexible nature. Plan before your retirement day comes which allows for flexibility.

One of my favorite posters on here retired a week or two ago. He posted two reviews in the past week and spent some time with a "favorite" who was not dancing. Glad to see that his retirement did not bring any initial changes.

I retired at age 57 but was offered a gig working 100 days per year (about 1/2 time) with good pay & expenses. That plus a very good pension allowed me to otc once or twice a week and get to the club at least that often.
Then it dawned on me that I should have saved some of my “extra” money cuz I dropped at least $300k in 5 or 6 years. My wife had Alzheimer’s and her long term care insurance allowed me to hire s home health care aide when I went out.
She was in a nursing home for 5 or 6 months before passing.
I’ll be $5 next month, my ATF moved away and another dancer who I rank as a 9.5 has just started dancing at a club near me. It’s been more than 3 years since I saw her but I remember wonderful OTC sessions with her, full GFE, followed by an extensive menu.two problems: I’m 47 years older than she and I really can no longer afford what I know she’ll expect (and rightfully so).
I’m just going to sit back and wait for awhile. I’ve been helping my ATF with a car and cash in exchange for her 20 to 30 minute porn videos. I even flew to where she’s living and became the cameraman for two videos. That spending will be stopping so my 27 year old friend may fit into the scheme soon.
The key is income and assets.

I am a long way from retirement and even when I do, it will be more a part time retirement.

I need things to do more in my life than just mongering (though that is important).

I will probably work at something until they put me six feet under and I will continue partying until that time too.

How did it affect me? I will let you know when I turn 99.5 years old. At that point in time, I will hopefully have been retired for at least 6 months.

I retired 3.5 years ago. Didn't affect my clubbing. I used to one once a month or so and still do.
