Eliminating these businesses will do NOTHING toward ending the DEMAND for commercial sex. Fucking nonsense. It only decreases the SUPPLY of commercial sex. Decreasing the supply may well actually increase the incidence of domestic violence and/or drive the specter of human trafficking further underground. Previously, sex workers had a quasi-legitimate address within which to provide their precious time and talent in exchange for a little treasure.

Human trafficking needs to be eliminated by incarcerating pimps to excessive sentences. In other words, alter the cost/benefit ratio of being a pimp to the level at which it is no longer worth it to be one.

Eliminating a venue at which a willing adult transacts business with other willing adults has NOTHING TO DO with reducing trafficking. It is ALL ABOUT legislating morality. Enjoy your future empty downtown storefronts, you shitty Rockford excuse for municipal leadership -- your town sucks and now there is one less reason to ever go there.
