Commodifying prostitution could and likely would be viewed as a major cash cow & revenue generator just like the sea change in how ganja was viewed and decriminalized in so many locales in short order.
Sure and look at what legal weed has become.... a cash cow for the tobacco and alcohol distribution companies. The weed is priced too high, shit quality, and cops now go after weed dealers a lot more than before because corporations hate competition.
Legalized prostitution will look like and be priced like the Nevada brothels. Illegal prostitution will thrive but get more expensive as the risks will increase... again crackdowns to aid the private sector.
Decriminalization would just mean that hookers would be treated as victims, tricks as criminals...
Icey Loco the douche bag now knows all about legal weed, despite never buying any or living in a state where they sell it. He also denies sex workers their "rights" because "there are laws against it". You mean like laws making slavery legal andwomwen ineligible to vote? Those kinds of laws ignoramus? Titot is correct. We loved the weed experience in Washington, loved it in Vegas more, but its still fine here in Massachusetts where it is overpriced to the extent that with the disgraceful tax on it, it costs me 100% more to buy it legally than though my source. Icey Loco = proving the stupidity of progressives 24/7.
You don't want to raise the legality of strip clubs to the presidential/national level. What would happen is that both parties would compete to increase restrictions on strip clubs, and federal regulations would impose tough sanctions on all clubs in every city and state. It is better to keep strip club regulations on the local level where bribery and corruption will permit some fun.
@Skibum, you should know that prostitution falls under labor laws...its not about individual or civil rights. Also, legal weed in Vegas is about twice as much as illegal weed. In California it can cost up to 3 times as much.
DC, legal weed costs two to three times as much as illegal weed, and in every state its legal in, there are more severe penalties for weed dealers... Decriminalization is a pipe dream.... it would take prostitution from a crime to a health risk. The US lacks the public health/mental health care infrastructure for that move. Secondly, it pushes prostitution further underground because of increased penalties for tricks and pimps.
