To me TUSCL has seemed much slower than usual, and for several days. I am sure that this is why some posts are coming up duplicated.

An update on "page loading". When I click on "discussions", the page takes about 10 seconds to load. If I select a topic, it loads almost instantly. When go back to the discussion page, another 10 seconds. Earth shattering, no, distracting, VERY!
^ yeah - it seems the Discussion view takes noticeably longer to load than clicking into a thread

Try logging off and see if it loads faster
I tried logging off and yes it is a lot faster. Maybe I can delete some ignores.
I tried deleting a dozen or so ignores and no improvement. Still slow.
I will look at different options to make it faster

Earlier today while I was in Hong Kong I was trying to see a couple of websites including tuscl. yes. it was slow.

The discussion view loads 30 threads at a time - at one time it was 10 I think - wonder if this has something to do with it - if it does I'm not sure loading 30 threads every time is necessary especially since one is constantly loading the discussion view to check for new comments

Founder, over the last year it has sometimes been slow, but usually it is plenty fast. Not sure that there is really anything wrong now. But sometimes it is slow to respond to clicks, even the "Post Comment", so I think this makes people fee that they have to do it again.
Not sure though that anything needs to be changed.
With IGNORE's, I would think that that only makes a noticeable speed impact if it involves additional hard disc access via the database. Just screening out the ignored parties in the server should not take enough time to be noticeable.
