My Dad flew with him in Pensacola during WWII. He said that Bush was an unassuming guy who was always honest. He also said that nobody on the base, including the base commander, knew that Bush's father was a senator, let alone the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee!
+1 on many of the above comments, especially the 1st 4 posts. Bush 41 holds the distinction of being the longest lived US president (94 plus years), though if Jimmy Carter manages to live 112 days past 30 Nov 2018, he'll surpass Bush 41.

Cashman, I wondered the same thing. That seems pretty common.
Seemed a decent man, but politically, wasn't a favorite as he wasn't a good replacement for 40.
