It did it did. I was just shocked because I know a whole gang of people within the age gap that are divorced.
I had a 14 year gap so that puts me in the 50% bracket but the real question is how long did the marriages last. Mine went 27 years until divorce.

I had less than a year's age gap with my ex-wife. If I married a stripper half my age, the marriage would probably last a week.

Somehow this doesn't surprise me. Even though my age preference in dating/sex usually sets a very high gap between me and my partner (current boyfriend is 53), the downside of it is generation/cultural differences, so it may be harder to find a lot of common grounds or opinions I see eye to eye on as opposed to someone that is within the same age group as me that I could relate to much better. But that's a part of what making friends is anyway.
I'd much rather learn more or be mentored by a wise old man that's already learned from his mistakes than date someone close to my age range that doesn't know that much more than I do and ends up fucking up alongside with me instead of warning me or keeping me from fucking up. But as far as marriage goes, I never really saw it as a good option with that kind of gap (Then again, I don't like the concept of marriage at all, but that's a different topic) - and I think the statistics shared here kind of reflects that.
