I usually tend to sit at the bar so I can survey things w/o having dancers inviting themselves to my table or lap - I'm into variety (getting w/ multiple dancers on a visit) and not into talking with dancers for extended periods of time - so sitting kinda out-of-the-way works best for me
I don't often fly solo, and even when I do, if I have a CF at the time, I'll have made an appointment and she'll be waiting for me. But those times when neither of those is the case, after a quick bathroom trip for a welfare check to see if Papi is done sobbing, I either sit at the bar, or sit at an out-of-the-way corner table. I want to be in a lower-traffic area for a little while, to see which strippers are in the place, and generally get into PL mode.
BTW, it doesn't take me very long to go from "sit in a dark corner like a mushroom and hope no one notices me" to moving to a high traffic area to get some attention. I'm fine with a short soft-start, but then I want to meet strippers. And when I find the one I like, it's back with her to the low traffic area, so I can monopolize her :)
when i first walk in a usa club where i first sit depends on the girl on stage. if i like her I'll go to the tip rail. otherwise i sit away from the stage.
I always try to get a seat where my back is to the wall. I want to see what is coming towards me. Nothing like a pretty face sticking her head over your shoulder asking if you want company and then that pretty face is followed by 200 lbs of pork.
I'm usually looking for sex or a girl to make OTC plays with so at Naltimore Clubs like Chez Joeys, Bottoms Up, Red Room, and Jewel box I keep it all at the bar. Buy 1 beer and sit down, $9 and look at the pussies on girls I think look good enough to bang I just sit there and wait but,
at Hustlers and Ritz in Baltimore I pay the house fee and I will go towards the couch and tip $1 or $2 as they get off the stage but, I'm only looking for more classier escorts you can't find at the ones on the Block.
At Players Club in Baltimore or Showcase Theather in PG County I pay the house fee of $25-$30 and find the girl I want to give me a lap dance. 1 bad dance = 1 and done. There is this super thick girl at Showcase Theather and I will let her take all my money. I LDK with her, she'll get up, get it hard again and then keep going. I love it so much, so like others said, it varies.
LostinFLA, there's no right or wrong way to do this. Do whatever makes you comfortable. I travel a lot, and am often flying solo in a club I've never been to before. Like shadowcat, I like to have my back to the wall, and I often achieve that by sitting at the bar and turning my stool around so that my back is to the bar and I can survey the whole room.
When not at the bar, I tend to prefer stools at high-top tables against the wall as opposed to a standard chair at a low table in the middle of the room. I think when you're at a low table and a girl comes to sit with you, it's slightly harder to get them to leave if you're not interested. Being approached at a high-top is less of a commitment on the girl's part, and makes a quick "No thanks, I'm good right now" easier for her to leave than when she's already planted herself.
I very rarely start out near the stage, where there's an expectation of tipping every girl who gets up there to dance. If there's someone I want to get a closer look at, I'll definitely go up there to tip and chat a bit (and maybe cop a feel), but generally don't park myself there for any length of time.
I like interacting with the girls, both verbally and physically, and I've generally had good luck with that sitting with my back to the bar and being open to the room. But that's just me. Do whatever feels most comfortable to you.
The small black clubs I hit in Miami have the stage inside the bar so kinda not convenient, if not not-kosher, to sit w/ one's back to the bar-top, thus leaving one's back-flank exposed to a fugly-attack - what I do in this circumstance is to sit sideways at the bar so I can still see the stage and see them walking towards me at least from one-direction (and if they walk up behind me they usually stand in front of me since there is room as opposed to if I was sitting facing the bar).
No exceptions, at the bar. As Papi said, I don't want some dancer plopping down on my lap or at a table. In S. FL, a tip walk is always present, it seems. That way, if I see a dancer that interests me during the walk, I can tip her well and ask for dances when she completes her walk. Worked well for me!
Nothing is wrong with the bar if the club is packed. Also, if you sit at the bar, in my experience it's best to make eye contact with some dancers walking by and/or stop them and let them know you're interested in getting a dance.
Personally I like to be on the floor, but not on perv row as some call it. Usually I try to get a seat in the back or mid in regards to placement to the main stage. I feel the dancers think I'm not there to spend if I'm at the bar.

At my regular SC, I'll call ahead and have a seat at the bar waiting for me when I get there.
