Fast Food / Junk Food Fantasy Revisited
shailynn
They never tell you what you need to know.
Of course I feel like shit after eating it but that’s because of the biscuit. They have the best fries, and best mashed potatoes and gravy of any fast food joint. Yes I had both, and a biscuit. I think they call that carbicide.
What fast food restaurants do you get excited about when you’re out of town? What do you get there?
My list:
In and Out Burger (just a cheese burger and fries)
Captain Ds (greasy fish and their hushpuppies)
Popeyes (any type of chicken tender, but I’m mainly there for the mashed potatoes/cajun gravy and their fries)
Got something to say?

Jack in the box tacos. (Disgusting but still satisfying)
Sonic bacon cheeseburger
Then Popeyes
Jack in the Box chicken nuggets
Chikfila regular sandwich is all you need with waffle fries
Wendy's is much better than In N Out, but it seems to be the cool thing to say you like In N Out, probably because it is so exclusive geographically.
It's like people that go out for sushi; only complete tools really like that shit.
For you grammarians, was that the proper use of a semicolon?
Popeye's is the shit. Love the spicy fried chicken until it gives me the shits.
But the ultimate fast food restaurant to me is Bo Jangles!!! Whenever I go to North Carolina it is a must visit.
Second to Bo Jangles is Culver's in Wisconsin and parts of Michigan. Butter burgers and frozen custard are sooo good there.
I forgot Del Taco. Fabulous tacos. Only in the southwest and Michigan for some reason. Anyone know the story how they wound up in Michigan but aren’t anywhere else in the Midwest or east?
Del Taco isnt that big, maybe it was cheap to open up shop in Michigan.
- lettuce
- tomatoes
- raw onions
- jalapenos
- BBQ sauce
In honor of this thread that is what I'm having for lunch today.
Whataburger
Rallys/checkers
Fatburger (ask for chargrilled instead of fried)
Jack in the Box Tacos
Arby’s (still like their roast beef)
Wendy’s (try their chili sauce on the fries)
If you ARE going to have fast-food, Five Guys is decent, although I don't like that all their burgers are cooked to well done. This is telling of the quality of their meat, imo, but whatever. There's one near my job that's open late. On Google it says it closes at midnight but that's either false or a very recent development. I used to go there to fill up on food and kill time after work while waiting for an Uber (we close at 2am, 5 Guys would still be open). Now I usually drive or have a friend take me, but it's a good option to kill time.
Popeye's is decent, but I wouldn't eat their chicken. Just sides.
I was alright with Wendy's (not often, but if I was hungry enough) out of all the typical fast food places. I think it's better than McDonald's, which my stomach can't process, as well as Taco Bell, etc. But I got sick a morning after eating Wendy's a few months ago and haven't eaten it sense. Taco Bell is good drunk food, but I always regret it after I realize once again that everything on the menu tastes the same - even though I never get their "meat" products.
Do places like Chipotle and Noodles N Co count as fast food? Chipotle is good. So is Noodles. I can eat both of those without worrying how it'll affect my stomach. Also, Panera Bread. Does that count? It's very healthy.
I've never had Chik-fil-A, strangely.
Used to like Sonic when I was younger. I'd probably still eat it here and there if I weren't so anti-fast food these days.
These places usually make the best chackin.
For sandwich shops I'm a fan of Jimmy John's.
But I try to eat out as little as possible, too much money wasted.
Their hot peppers aren't hot, but damn they're tasty.
Is it? I haven't tried it yet, but I figured it was just like a knock-off JJ that probably tastes the same. Am I that wrong? One open up near my mom's (but on the north side of 8 mile of course) near a street I used to live on while ago.
We have in n out here but I’m convinced it’s as good as back in California. I don’t like Jimmy Johns, Chipotle or whataburger.
Taco Mayo
Burgers from Farmer Boys
Popeye’s and Bojangles chicken are about the same for me, that is, really fucking good, albeit in different ways. The real difference is the sides. Popeye’s does the gravy better, but Bojangles does the rice better.
White Castle when I’m out late.
But no, I've never flashed them to save money. I've answered scantily clad, like a really short t shirt or maybe a sports bra and underwear, because I don't care. But I always tip well, anyway.
I also live in a place where you can find several other much better places for little sliders, at a decent cost. Most are not drive through, but you can be in and out (no pun intended) in about 5 minutes.
I’m ok with Arby’s too.
FIrehouse Subs
They beat subway by far
I hate Chipotle, and White Castle chicken sliders are some of the worst shit Ive ever eaten
Had Penn Station a few months ago it was a decent philly cheese steak
The south sucks as far as sub/sandwich places overall
BTW AFAIK Publix is only in the south.
I love Firehouse's brisket. Jersey Mikes has better cold sandwiches though.

Popeye’s

All enjoyable if I am in the right mood and fast food is the only option.
Oh, and anyone that says Jersey Mike's is better than Firehouse can blow me.
