Destination cities - Food / Clubs

Wednesday, June 7, 2017 12:19 PM
I have a milestone birthday coming up and looking for some recommendations on cities that have couple friendly topless or nude clubs and a good restaurant scene. New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, and Philly are already contenders but looking for other cities I might have missed. It is a bonus if we these places are walking distance from a decent hotel (the only place I know if like that it New Orleans). Where else am I missing?

Providence Rhode Island. Dinner at Sienna. Strip clubbing at Desires. 3 minutes in a cab.

Usually the more upscale places tend to be more couples friendly but still often times couples have issues getting attention in clubs unless the female is proactive about initiating interaction (and even then). The Lodge in Dallas is upscale and probably couples friendly and seems the in-house restaurant may be pretty-good. Cheetah Atlanta is also upscale and has a very good in-house restaurant albeit a bit expensive but everything in strip-clubs is more expensive - Cheetah ATL is centrally located (there may be a hotel across the street not sure) and has very nice looking girls although it's only air-dances (full nude though)

Cheetah in Atlanta is located in midtown within walking distance of many good hotels. The club is well know for totally nude eye candy and has a 4 star restaurant located inside the club. Here is their menu: [view link]

Providence has a great restaurant scene, and have been to Desire many times. I should put that as a possibility. I have eaten at the Lodge a few times (and I have a never eat in a strip club rule), it is surprisingly good. Down the street is Bucks, which has a cool smoking patio. Dallas was high on my list, but I have a summer birthday and July/August Dallas seems sweaty. I have never done Atlanta, is the entire city air-dance?

Tat - overall Atlanta is not great for high mileage but one club, Follies, is the most talked about club on this site and has 2034 reviews at last count and that is not for air dancing. :)

Follies is for serious mongers; IMO not "couples friendly" - club is small and super-packed and smoky as hell including 420 smoke - Follies is mostoy white on dayshift and mostly black at night, in case this makes a difference.

NOLA is pretty cool lots of food places and really nice hotels in the French Quarter. Never did strip clubs there but it is a touristy place you probably can't go wrong, I personally like Miami, SoBe, that's another place with great hotels restaurants and beach walking distance including night clubs all over. You will need to uber or cab to get to the best strip clubs, but even so I don't recommend walking to strip clubs in any major city or tourist destination you are too vulnerable when you leave especially late at night especially if you have a lady with you.

It seems like Vegas would be an obvious inclusion, but I don't have any recent experience with couple friendly clubs.

I think any large scale city you can think of has at least a few excellent dining options. This list of cities with solid clubs is pretty long as well. I think you need to narrow it down to good couple friendly clubs as they are the hardest thing to find on your list. New Orleans - clubs suck Philly - not sure why someone would choose Philly given other alternatives Dallas / Austin - I personally would take Austin as they have a much better nightlife scene which is all confined to one area (for the most part). I think they have some solid clubs as well, not near as good as Dallas clubs but strip clubbing is just "part" of your trip. If I were to answer your question, I would say these cities (in no particular order): Toronto Montreal Miami Phoenix Austin Las Vegas Atlanta I think all those cities have a thriving night life, dining culture as well as some solid strip club options as well.

Don't forget NYC, but it's going to be expensive maybe more expensive in many ways than Las Vegas.

I hear you on Philly, but I have a soft spot for that city after working on and off there for a few years. It seems like all the places I really want to go are going to be freaking hot next month. I guess I might have to just stop whining about the temperature.

"... It seems like all the places I really want to go are going to be freaking hot next month ..." If you are gonna be hitting restaurants and strip-clubs it should not be that big of an issue - except maybe some northern cities that may not have A/Cs

I second shadow cats recommendation of cheetah in Atlanta. The biggest collection of hot nude women anywhere and a really outstanding restaurant that is integrated into the club. It's the kind of place that a woman would be comfortable with. There are several nice hotels within walking distance. $10 nude air dances at the table, half hour VIP with decent contact for around $200. No extras there but plenty of otc opportunities. And you can get extras at other clubs in the city if that's what you want..

another good option would be to stay in south beach in Miami and either go to E11 downtown (very upscale) or Tootsies (slightly less upscale but still very nice). Yes it's hot but there's a beach with hot women who wear very little clothing and are sometimes topless.

First, thanks for posting this question. I too often wonder what are good destination cities for hobby-ing that have other attractions to justify significant travel. Purely from a mongering / high mileage viewpoint... I'd think Detroit would be the obvious choice for summertime clubbing in US. Not sure how that would fit into the couples / foodie requirements. Guessing DTW wouldn't be very couples friendly. NOLA and Vegas have high tourist influence which affects the club scene. Although, in your case, the the tourist slant may be more pro than con. Vegas is also expensive. Personally, I haven't seen any info on the Philly scene that would make me want to club there.

I left Detroit off my list because the only reason a PL should go to Detroit is because he can fuck inside just about every club. Other than that, why would you want to go their unless you like to gamble? Also I rarwly see couples in Detroit clubs.

Wasn't going to mention anything, but since my home town has come up in this thread, I'll confirm, the strip-clubbing in New Orleans isn't really up to standards. The city simply isn't big enough to have the critical mass necessary for legitimate "adult entertainment" opportunities -- not just strip clubs, by the way; all the other monger-oriented behaviors are at a minimum too. You can, if you're determined, probably get what you want, but you have to work at it, and the variety and likelihood are significantly lower. It's still a very fun city to visit, and the restaurants are, IMO, second to none on the planet -- excellent service-staff tradition of old style European-trained waiters, chefs, maitres d'hotel, etc., and brilliant cuisine from all the fusion and creole styles. (Also, you can walk up and down the street with alcoholic drinks in hand, and imbibe from them, so long as they're in a plastic cup which won't create trash or sharp pointy things, if that's a thrill to you. I'm over it. Meh.) The National World War II Memorial is one of the top three or six museums in the country, there must be at least ten airplanes hanging from the ceilings. Several other world-class attractions here, too. But the whole metro area only has the population of, say, Buffalo NY or Wichita KS, places that simply are not associated with any kind of entertainment, certainly not ADULT entertainment. So the overall opportunity for any type of "adult" behavior, even if totally legal such as at a straightforward high-end strip club, is just not going to be there. Gone are the days of "Sin City", sorry to say, but I still love it here and would highly recommend a visit for all of our other amenities and charms ... just, don't expect anything stellar in the strip-club vein.

Another vote for Providence. The strip club scene is small, but the ones that are there tend to be fun, especially Desire. You won't find a better restaurant scene almost anywhere, especially if you like Italian food (or seafood or even Chinese food for that matter). This is coming from a Grade A food snob who thinks that 95% of restaurants serve mediocre to crappy food. There are a few fantastic Italian restaurants on Federal Hill that are just a short cab/uber ride from Desire.

Couple friendly is all a matter of timing with the staff of a club that particular night. Some dancers like couples and others avoid them like the plague. Of the cities mentioned and keeping the walking distance factor in mind I concur with Toronto, New Orleans and will add KEY WEST to that list. One more thought; I recently stayed at the Greektown Casino hotel in Detroit as a couple. NIce hotel and we were able to gamble, walk to restaurants and had a good time at Bouzouki and Legends both of which were within a 5 minute walk. One night there were at least 6-8 couples or co-ed groups at Legends.
