Wasn't going to mention anything, but since my home town has come up in this thread, I'll confirm, the strip-clubbing in New Orleans isn't really up to standards. The city simply isn't big enough to have the critical mass necessary for legitimate "adult entertainment" opportunities -- not just strip clubs, by the way; all the other monger-oriented behaviors are at a minimum too. You can, if you're determined, probably get what you want, but you have to work at it, and the variety and likelihood are significantly lower. It's still a very fun city to visit, and the restaurants are, IMO, second to none on the planet -- excellent service-staff tradition of old style European-trained waiters, chefs, maitres d'hotel, etc., and brilliant cuisine from all the fusion and creole styles. (Also, you can walk up and down the street with alcoholic drinks in hand, and imbibe from them, so long as they're in a plastic cup which won't create trash or sharp pointy things, if that's a thrill to you. I'm over it. Meh.) The National World War II Memorial is one of the top three or six museums in the country, there must be at least ten airplanes hanging from the ceilings. Several other world-class attractions here, too. But the whole metro area only has the population of, say, Buffalo NY or Wichita KS, places that simply are not associated with any kind of entertainment, certainly not ADULT entertainment. So the overall opportunity for any type of "adult" behavior, even if totally legal such as at a straightforward high-end strip club, is just not going to be there. Gone are the days of "Sin City", sorry to say, but I still love it here and would highly recommend a visit for all of our other amenities and charms ... just, don't expect anything stellar in the strip-club vein.
