on the list of clubs it notes "brothel" or "full nude" or "adult entertainment" on each club heading. as far as i know all the tj zona norte clubs are not brothels. the description "adult entertainment" or bar would be much more accurate. case in point. tropical bar is not a brothel. it is a bar with the possibility of adult entertainment. and tropical bar has a dance floor for couples as do most of the neighborhood bars... las chaveles, la gloria, la valentina, la malquerida, and a number of other clubs/bars. the only tj club that i've been to that may actually be accurately described as a brothel is deja vu tj. and dv is not in zona norte.

then there is hong kong and adelitas. both offers the strong possibility of full nude. this usually happens only on the main stages. some girls will only get topless. there are times at hk that even if a dozen girls are dancing that not one is not getting fully nude. but hk has the fairly regular shaving cream shows. usually these are nude but there was a short period of time that the girls didn't get fully naked.

in zona norte you basically enjoy your time in the clubs at a table, stage, bar, maybe in a vip dance booth, and maybe arriba in a hotel room nearby the club.

the only zona norte club that offers anything different from the primary focus of adult entertainment is mermaids massage parlor.

the whole tj experience can be summed up simply as ymmv. and with so many options. bar girls. street girls. escorts. even civies. nice.

There is a feature called "Suggest edit" that could correct a lot of this stuff but trying to get people to do so is like asking a stripper to tell the truth.

I wouldn't say that ymmv. You get exactly what you want at all venues in zona norte and the surrounding areas. You are guaranteed sex if that is what you want. The question is whether you are comfortable engaging in those activities in the tiny private rooms or if you want to walk 30' next door and get a hotel room.

Shit, I've seen people do lines at their table in HK and I've seen discrete fucking in a booth of Tropical Bar. Talent does vary depending on the night of the week and time of day. La Malquerida turns into a relatively clean dance club for the locals after 3AM on most week nights; but you can still find a lady to head next door to Hotel Ibiza if you are willing to pay a little more.

You are right about Bar Tropical.On this recent visit of mine,I noticed a different vibe here talking to some dancer's.At first we were a little surprised by the charge ($150/- for arriba),but later were explained by the waiter that not all girls there are straight arriba types.They are there for providing company (drinking,dancing...etc).Later,depending on your mutual understanding,obviously things can take a turn for arriba but not by hitting them up flat out. Also,we noticed a similar vibe at Las Chavelas bar (a little different from HK & Adelita's).

At first thought I'd say if the primary service the club is known for is "arriba" then the brothel designation applies - but categorizing HK for example as a brothel would lead those not in the know to think that there was no other forme of entertainment other than prostitution - thus probably the "Adult Entertainment" moniker would be more encompassing of everything the club offers.

Bar with onsite session rooms = "House of Dates", technically illegal as it is a brothel, even in TJ's Zona. This is why their massage shops keep moving and keep a lower profile.

Bar where you take the girl outside = "Hooker Bar", and this is what HK Bar, Bar Tropical, Adelitas, and all of the others are. Legal because in Mexico they still have some respect for due process and it is impossible to prove that anyone is breaking any law. Imagine if due process and probable cause were respected like this in the US?
