  Worked for me the very first time, and I didn't even use a small photo! What is the file type?

  Hava you tried a different type photos from different sources, could just be something w/ the specific photo you are using

  FWIW, if you want to modify images, I have found GIMP to be awesome. Haven't used it in some years though. Lots of compression and formatting options.
  
  Just MS-PAINT will let you scale down an image.
  
  Oh, as far as using a mobile device, I have no idea. I would not try that. Too hard to even post. I just use full sized keyboard desktops, with lots of core, lots of hard drive, and lots of applications.

  Stuff that goes through cell phones, there is other software coming into play. Too many variables that you cannot control.
