Miami, FL (or the nearest big-booty club)
University of Washington WR John Ross has broken the NFL combine 40-yard dash record formerly held by RB Chris Johnson who ran a 4.24 around 10 years ago - Ross just ran a 4.22 - damn.

And the kicker is that he's white.

LOL just kidding - of course he's chocolate :)

So he can run. We'll see if he's actually a football player.

WTF is a 40 yard dash? I ran the 100 & 220 and anchored the 440 relay in high school but only remember doing a 50 yard dash in JR. High School.

SC- The 40 yd. dash times have been a staple of football, at least since the late 60's when I first entered High School. Rationale being that vast majority of plays are under 40 yards, and quickness of running down plays is valued as highly, if not more so than flat out speed. It was done on a football field, being that there were no specific 40 yard markers on the track. Did you run on a dirt, or a paved track in school ?

rs666- We shall see. Chris Johnson (previous record holder) hasn't done too bad.(3 All Pro seasons, set several rushing, and all purpose yard records). Bob Hayes (Dallas Cowboys) is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also was the first to run a sub 10 second 100 meter dash, and won a gold medal in the 100 meters at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. So it "can" happen.

Minnow - never ran on a paved track or indoors. Also played "end" receiver in football. Of course I graduated in '61.

When NFL Network showed Chris Johnson as a yellow bar running along side Ross then Johnson actually finished faster. They also showed Ross running against Dri Archer(from a few years ago) who ran a 4.26 and they finished virtually at the same time.

If the two different NFLN videos were accurate something is amiss.

Dri Archer was drafted by the Steelers in the 3rd round and was out of the league 2 years later so speed isn't everything.

Yeah; plenty of speed-guys don't do much in the NFL - by contrast the G.O.A.T. Jerry Rice reportedly ran a 4.71.

This kid Ross is very undersized but he seems that he can play ball - if he lands on a team that has a good and dynamic offense (e.g. Cardinals; Patriots; etc) then a team like that will probably be able to create plays to take advantage of his quickness.
