Wow how things change. I think for the past decade I always got a square for a private party at a sportsbar, made several small bets on the game...
Now, my bookie "retired" and the sportsbar isn't doing a private party for the first time in over a decade. Looks like I'll just stay home and cook some "party food." My wife asked if I wanted to invite people over several weeks ago and I said "nah."
Hope you guys are doing something more exciting than me!
Waitaminnit... I don't give a flying fuck about either the Pats or the Falcons. I guess I'll go out and enjoy the beach on Sunday. Forecast to be 83 and clear, sadly, not forecast by Yanet.
The wife and I will watch the first quarter and a half then rapidly lose interest (like most years). If the weather cooperates we'll probably take the dogs out and let them run.
What game? I thought football season was over. Wasn't the last game Monday January 9 in Tampa and Clemson won?? Wait I guess there is the Snoozer Bowl coming up. Who is playing? I stopped following the supposed professionals years ago. Their "play offs" are things to put on when you need a nap. Like watching golf, only not as exciting!
Back in the day I used to go to someone's house that was hosting a party but there was usually too much going on and one couldn't really focus on the game - I might go to my brother's house as I did last year but if he's having people over I may just stay home relaxing watching the game
Normally I'd watch it but I'm not interested this year. Between the *yawn* teams, the over-hyped commercials and what will probably be a lame half time show (sorry Gaga) I'd just as soon go take my doggies to the dog park and enjoy the day outside.
I turned down a trip to Vegas and a casual "I can get you a ticket" from a client. I've got a few party invites and I might stop in at one or two of those just to see some people. I'm also tempted to just stay home. I have little interest beyond hoping the Pats lose.
I used to go to parties also. And I used to take the next day (Monday) off.
Now, I'll be at home watching it.
With the late start, and it being Sunday evening, it's just not worth the hassle of going to a bar or to a party anymore for me when I have to work the next day.
They really should move the game to a Saturday night so it turns into an event people would be more inclined to make a bigger party out of it.
Honestly just picked up a waitress from Denny's and I'm taking her out for the game to get her drunk then I'm going to drown her body in baby oil and after worshipping her curves I'm going to bust a load on her face

Oh yeah, and inviting plenty of people over to eat good food, drink strong liquor and to share in the joy of the ass whooping. ;)
