OT: A young girl is hinting at being interested you, but is young? what do you d

So at my job, this 17 year old soon to be 18 year old is hinting to be very interested in me. I'm 25 and I have not even tried to get her number much less hang out with her. You know, law and such. But she's almost 18, she is Asian (Chinese) AND she is admittedly pretty to what I would consider dating material. But even being that she's going to be 18, I still feel wrong because I'm 8 years older than her. Plus I'm black and I'm not sure if she's a first or second generation so there's also the potential issue of the parents (I'm not making 6 figures yet). But she's a great girl otherwise. I want to date her but the implications of being so much older than her places my mind. Not to mention it's extremely hard to find ANY Asian that likes a black man, and I do like Asians. What would you mature folks do in my scenario?

@vincemichaels well this is a job I work between one or two days a week. I have a much better job elsewhere and I plan to quit the job we work together at in a couple months.

@rockstar huh you know, I don't know. I just know that she will be 18 before she graduates in June.

Hmm, but isn't it still weird of an age gap. I mean it would be a girlfriend, not a sugar baby or something stupid like that. And there's still the issue of parents. I know east Asians are very serious about family.

Well Filipino women aren't common in NYC. Then again it's hard to tell because some of them know tagalong (lol) and some know Spanish. And tagalong might as well be aliens talking to my ears.

w.r.t. the age, you can date her but try not to be alone w/ her in a compromising position where your black-mamba may want to make an appearance (at least not till she's 18 to be on the safe side).

If she's an immature soon to be 18 y/o then I would personally pass, if she's not a drama-queen then age is just a # (as long as she's legal), and Asian people "typically" are well-grounded but of course it's not universal - but when dating a much younger person one needs to be cognizant they are not as emotionally mature nor have as much life experience as one does thus one needs to be more patient and understanding and also be aware that young women w/ not much relationship experience can often fall hard especially for an older guy so one neds to be cognizant of their emotions.

When I was 25 I could only stand to be around 18 year olds for short periods because 18yo girls love their mind games and I do not.
Short term, AFTER SHE TURNS, I say go for it but wear a hat no matter what she says or you WILL be paying child support.
You DFK an 18 yo and she will get pregnant.

I'm with lowpaw, 17 will get you 20. I stay away from 17yr olds, period.

That said, in my late twenties I dated a number of 18yr olds varying degrees of success. For what its worth, I'd stay friendly while she's 17 and reconsider when she's 18. What's the worst that could happen?

I was 28 when I dated a 19-yr old. It was New Orleans, so getting her into bars was no problem. It probably won't work out long-term, but wait until she turns 18 and the grab her by the pussy.

got to go captain obvious on this... you're asking a msg board full of hound who have a habit of discussing p4p with ladies 1/2 or 1/3 their age... yeh.

my 2 cents.. make sure she's 18. if she's coming on to you that hard, why wouldn't you try to get some civi action? I get that the age gap is weird... I couldn't stand an relationship type situation with someone 8 yrs younger than me... but whether or not she's marriage material shouldn't automatically veto a less serious pursuit IMO.

I would just play it cool and hang out with her at work or with friends similar to what the other guys are saying. I wouldn't be alone with her until she turned 18 and you know for sure. You may not want to quit that second job just yet. You sound(read) like a pretty smart guy so just use your big head and you should be fine. At work we used to have colleague summer students come in to work when I was 23/24. This one blonde(19) would stare across the table at me during lunch. Once she realized I liked her staring at me, she would run her foot up my leg and watch for my reaction. She moved on to sitting next to me and stroking me over my uniform. We ended up playing around the whole summer but all she would do is stare at me and jerk me off. She loved watching my face until I came. Best summer ever for this PL.

I never saw a clarification as to the order of the operators, but that means according to the shadchan 16 to 19.5 is your sweet spot. As for the legalities, can't help you there. Try dating. How much can you have in common with a 17 year old? If its just sex that is one thing, if it is more than that is another. Probably best to stay away for a couple years.
