I can attest that Fri/Sat nights are extremely crowded. This will not favor the TUSCL folks who are trying to apply all the negotiation tactics they've learned on this site. Sunday the 15th might be a better experience. Monday the 16th is a holiday after all. So feel free to sleep in before catching your flight home.
If folks are serious about gambling, there are casinos all over TJ. Even if you don't want the full greyhound track experience of Agua Caliente, zona norte is only about a half mile away from numerous branches of the Caliente chain or Pueblo Amigo. A $5 cab ride will get you where you need to go to feed that other addiction. Even if you lose your shirt, you can walk back to the meetup afterwards since it's so close.
