on my latest visit to hong kong club on tuesday... i ran into a friend of mine that has heard a particular dancer was killed just recently under suspicious circumstances in tj. his attempts to contact her have been negative. my God... i hope she is ok. very nice girl.

There's a lot of crime and criminal-gangs in Mexico - I recall in the 90s after NAFTA went into effect and a lot of US companies opened lots of big factories in Mexico that a lot of poor people from villages and small-towns moved to work in those factories that often went 24 hours a day w/ multiple work shifts - during that time dozens of young women, that would have to walk to and from those factories often alone and at night, started disappearing or turning-up dead.

Remember, women tend to be superstitious and often believe in false chains of causality, and working girls are even more superstitious because they live outside the good women's circle of protection.
There were those women turning up dead outside Ciudad Juarez. Probably there was a psycho-sexual serial killer or two operating, but because police where hold up in the police station, for fear of getting machine gunned by the drug gangs, they couldn't do anything.
My own view of Mexico and of our local Latina culture, is that prostitution is much more gentile than it is in most other venues. Girls more relaxed, more ready for Toda La Noche, more ready for GFE, etcetera. Others have posted that in SoCal clubs Latinas more ready for OTC in your own home.
Most of the available info about TJ says that street or in the clubs, the girls don't use pimps. If there has been a killing, more likely to have been a pimp in a fight over money. This is why Amnesty International has got it right, that sex work must be decriminalized. Do that and the pimps are gone.
Girl was killed in a trailer park area of San Jose some years back. Vietnamese, and on Old Oakland Rd, coming out of the downtown to the east. Male associate arrested for it. Seemed to be fight over money.
Chinese newspaper said she was a working girl. AAMP girls got scared as rumors spread. But that was not an AAMP type place, and the guy was her BF / Pimp. Mercury News is smarter, they don't print stuff like that, because it could make it back to the girl's family.
I did notice that Mercury News tended to quash that story, whereas with most homicides, they follow up in detail.
But the Pimp/BF is a far more likely killer than a client, robber, or psychopath.
