We are just not replacing the great artists of yesteryear

We just recently lost Brian Wilson and Sly Stone this past week. Sly Stone does it get any more 70's than Sly Stone. youtube.com

And I mean Brian Wilson, what he did in the 1960's in my opinion is one of the greatest accomplishments any American has ever done. I grew up to the Beach Boys but then again who the hell didn't? Anytime I'm near a California beach, or really any beach, the Beach Boys are playing in my vehicle, period. I admit, I cried like a little bitch when I heard the news. He really was a genius.

But you know what it got me thinking like there's just nobody coming up to replace guys. It's not having nostalgic glasses on either, I'm totally open minded but just there's nothing exciting coming up. No live act under age 40 I'd say is interesting to me. It's every genre too. Look at what happened to rap. Look at what happened to Country/Western. Is Rock even a thing anymore? Jazz is dead. Blues is dead. What's exciting coming out on the radio?

Like when you say this, somebody always your just not listening to right stuff man but I don't know I don't have a billion hours everyday to listen to everything. Maybe it's out there but it's just not getting to me. I have to always go back. Who's the next Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Prince, David Bowie, Elvis, Merle Haggard, Allman Brothers etc. we can go for days with this. It's just not there man. It's all autotune, tweenybop bullshit it's all on out in these strip clubs and I tune out to these animal noises.

That is because it was become too easy to make music. One no longer needs a combination of true talent and stage presence to become a star. Autotune, digital mastering, and computers replacing bands and instruments jave created a flood where true star power is drowned out in a sea of chaff.
