Not sure if i would consider this a tip or not, but for an ex favorite i gave her several gifts for her birthday or something like that. One of the items was a box of chocolates with a few chocolates missing and a iou note saying i owed her a couple chocolates. Just part of the joke. She got pissed at first until she read the iou and laughed

I got a paper napkin rose once. It was nicely made. The guy was one of those people who made towels into stuff on cruise ships
