There have been court cases, forcing the authorities to allow 18yo dancers, so long as it is not a place with alcohol and where the min age for customers or staff is 21.
In California it is 18yo for without alcohol, and 21 for with alcohol. But some states, though with a drinking age of 21, they still can have staff, like waitresses only 18. So these places have to allow dancers only 18 too.
For an adult to be able to take of their clothes to music is a free speech right.
Just a correction : in SF, at least, plenty of 18-20 year old strippers in the alcohol strip clubs, they just can't drink or serve alcohol. SJG for some reason refuses to believe this, but I assure the rest of you, it's true. I've had a whole slew of under-21 faves the past year or two -- though do strongly prefer 21 & over, and actually think mid-20s is perfect

Actually it had slipped my mind. I remember now that Subraman and I discussed this at length. I told him that I'll try and look into it. Sometimes business operators do find ways to wiggle around laws. I'm not taking any position on it, and I don't dismiss what Subraman is saying, even though it does sound implausible. But I must also say that Santa Clara County has some extensions of it's own on top of the state's alcohol laws.
And yes, to what Papi says, it is true. Court cases were won, so 18yo cannot be denied the chance to work in strip clubs. However, they are still subject to the rules which apply to alcohol sales.
In some states cocktail waitresses, bar tenders, and strippers can be only 18, even though the alcohol age is 21. But in some other states it is different. I will look into what Subraman is saying.
I don't disbelieve him, but I do know that sometimes things are done in strip clubs which are deceptive.

Didn't read the whole article but it states the usual non-sense of human-trafficking and and trying to connect SCs to it.
