Vocally putting people on ignore?

Do you usually tell people when you put them on ignore? I'm curious about why!
There are a few people who I find negative and I've put one of them on ignore because he seemed obsessed with me! I can't remember if I said I was putting them on ignore but I have been ignoring him! No not logging in and reading his posts etc.
I think that telling people you have them on ignore just stirs them up if they're in the mood to post jokes!
No disrespect if you've done this! I'm just wondering if you've done it and, if you have, if you're trying to make a point and get the goat of folks you're putting on ignore. Extreme cases of posting your whole ignore list like rickdugan are clearly an attempt to stir up trouble or they are clueless d-baggery. Not sure which!

I tend to announce it when I add someone to my list, not to stir up trouble but merely as information.
Some discussion threads are amazingly shortened as a result. On one thread last night I saw 0 out of 581 posts.

Lol, yes some of those guys have way too much time on their hands to post their crap but I don't have anyone on ignore even though I do ignore lots of threads and comments.

And dogs are barkers! U catch my drift. Most Jewish people are extremely particular about germs to a fault that they overspend time cleaning. Two Jewish friends of mine whenever boarding a plane will always take out a sanitizing wet wipe that they brought from home and wipe down the whole seat before sitting, and they both freak out when seeing someone in bare feet. It's a common stereotype.
