What more (or less) do you want from a strip club ?

Aside from the obvious, of course. The reason I ask, is that my favorite little local joint has made some changes in the last few months. They've added a few extra rooms with pool tables, etc, and they have just recently hired a massage girl to give back rubs. I always kind of bitched that the owner never put enough back into the place, but now that he has, I'm not sure how I like it.

Cat's meow, nice to hear from you again. SD, It's a shame, but the sc industry doesn't appear to market itself the same way other businesses do. They don't cater to the frequent or regular customer and provide things that will keep him coming back. They more or less target the guy that comes in once every couple of months and try to drain his wallet a variety of ways. If I'm out the door with empty pockets, it's because I just spent an hour or so with a dancer or 2 and a couple of beers. Who needs more than that ?

I want more show dammit :) better stage dancers, there's a few out there but not enough . I want to not have to worry about getting arrested for watching or performing exotic entertainment. In a perfect world I want more nude air dance showclubs with kickass stage shows that are 100% legal that pay the dancers a flat stage fee and customers pay a flat cover charge + drinks. And since this is my perfect world we're talking about- LOL- you pervy raincoaters can have your brothels totaly separate so both customer and performer can pick and choose their enviroment.

Is it o.k. to print this thread and mail it to club managers in Detroit?

I don't like bathroom attendants, I can piss by myself, thank you..although I have seen a bowl of condoms in one club toilet, and the attendant was charging a buck a rubber... I told him I prefer my own brand...heheh... I just want to feel welcome, cozy and comfortable. I hate over hustle and being asked if I want another drink after two sips of my new one. Just a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, enough light to see the ladies, and no rap or hip hop music...

For Pinhead: Yup, I went to two clubs where that was the routine, not the exception. The scene in Detroit is getting tired and desperate. Porn is available everywhere without paying what I am sure are inflated prices in in stripclubs. Maybe the managers think some guys will buy porn because they can't take a dancer home. Shows how little they know about us or respect us. We're all a bunch of dumb cash machines.

I also noticed in the place that I go, they have a vending machine that sells porno dvd's. I know it sounds strange, but I think that's pretty sleezy. I don't think strip clubs and porn go hand in hand.

Sounds to me like SD just got back from a club in which he was looking for fun and funny conversation, but all he got was 'wanna dance, I can't pay my rent.'

Less: "Wanna dance?" "I can't pay my rent." More: Fun and funny conversation

Personally I don't care at all about the quality of dancing, I'm just as happy if the girls don't even dance. I've enjoyed lots of places where the girls basically just crawl or walk around on stage joking with customers. Usually I'll be sitting far from the stage talking with one of the girls and won't even be watching the stage. As long as the place has a friendly and fun atmosphere with some pretty girls, that's all I care about.

BRANDYELISE: You are absolutely correct about the "dancing" or the lack there of. There are two places I would consider local clubs where I am from. One club is like a small neighborhood bar with very few frills (no private dance area, no champagne room, no pool tables, etc.) and the other is a very large well appointed "high end" club with wood finnish, lounge chairs, leather sofas, and several different levels of VIP rooms. The funny thing is the "high end" club has NO POLES. It has a huge raised theatre like stage, a long cat walk, several satellite stages, but not one pole. An entire night is nothing but watching women walk and pose. Management does not even allow dancers to floor dance. On the other hand, the other club, has two poles on its small main stage, and poles on the two table-top satellite stages. The women at this club get to show off their athleticisim, their dancing, and know how to put on a show! Even if it is not likely that I will get a private dance, I certainly appreciate dancers who provide great performances, and I am sure to tip them extra when they are on stage.

In saying that I mostly agree, I'll add the number one attraction to a club is hot girls and hot dances at very reasonable prices. Other factors are a nice plus or in some cases a negative.

I want brightly lit clubs--I'm tired of clubs that make me feel like I'm at the bottom of a coal mine!

I mostly agree with FONDL but I do enjoy the TV's in the clubs, especially if a sports game is on that I want to follow while in a club. One big turn off in clubs is music so loud that it hurts your ears. Even though repeated exposures would likely cause hearing loss, I don't avoid the club if other factors make the club appealing. If I do go to such a club, you can find me in the corners away from the extremely loud music or "noise" so loud that you have to shout next to the person beside you to talk. (I'm thinking of Platinum Plus clubs such as in Columbia or Greenville.) A nice example of a local club where the music is comfortable would be Nepals in Greenville. I don't really care for packed crowds either. What I would find enjoyable would be a little arcade fun in a side room of a club with Daytona 500 linked racing and possibly some of those shooter games with the plastic pistols. As far as I'm concerned, it's all about the entertainment/enjoyment and/or relaxation factor.

I don't think I would ever be accused of that, Yoda. But I know what you mean. The new set up is definitely strange, the pool room is set aside from the rest of the place, but there is a tiny little stage with a pole right near the tables. I can't see the dancers making a killing during that set.

I once had a dancer tell me that the only reason for the pool tables in a strip club is so guys can look at the dancers without tipping....

when my boyfriend and I go, we like girls that know how to put on a show, I also prefer a local kind of atmosphere. When it gets too fancy, and commercial like, I cant relax. It`s got to stay personal

All I care to see in a club is Pretty girls, Cheap drinks, and a bar like atmosphere... I don't care for all the glitz and glamour.. I just go to get dances and enjoy the scenery...

Mouse, buddy, I said 'aside from the obvious'. Anyway, I'm with you guys all the way. I will admit however that the pool tables did come in handy. I went in last weekend for the first time in a while. I always go in with the intent of spending some time and money on just 2 or 3 dancers. Only 1 of them was working at the time and wasn't due on stage for about 45 mins., so the pool room gave me the oportunity to 'hide out' and kill some time before she came on. But I really don't like any of the other things. If I'm going to spend my money, it's going to go to the dancers (and a few beers) That's what it's all about.

I pretty much agree with FONDL, Yoda, and Superdude, especially the "local" atmosphere.

Eliminate: Shot girls, flower girls; bathroom attendants; valet parking; trinket vendors; customer appreciation day; talky DJ's; features; techno music More: dancers; drink specials; lighted parking; variety of music; sport TV; websites for clubs

I go to a strip club to spend money on the girls. I don't care about cigars, food, flowers, bathroom attendants or any other scam the clubs dream up to try and get more money out of me. My pet peave above all else is DJ's that refuse to shut up.

Mostly I'm looking for a laid-back friendly atmosphere. I like a small neighborhood bar kind of place with dancers who are more like local girls out partying than pro strippers. A place with little or no hustle. A place where you immediately feel welcome. A place where medium contact lap dances are available at reasonable prices. I like a place that is open during the day. I like a place where you can sit and talk to a girl for an hour or so. I like a place that isn't too loud or smokey. I don't much care whether alcohol is served or not and I don't much care about pool tables, TV or DJ's - none of those things add anything as far as I'm concerned. And I don't care whether the place is fully nude or just topless although I think pasties are silly.
